Yeah Harrison Ford can testify to that.

    Meanwhile....

At least one person has died after two planes collided in mid-air at an airshow in northern Switzerland.

Police said the two aircraft were in a formation of three planes when they crashed in Dittingen on Sunday morning.

Shoreham air crash death toll rises to 11

The death toll from the Shoreham air crash where a vintage jet plummeted into traffic on a main trunk road is thought to have risen to 11, police have said.
Specialist recovery teams have begun recovering bodies from the site after the crash on Saturday, when the number of deaths was initially given as seven.
It comes as the first victims of the accident were named by their families.
Investigators are still combing the crash site in West Sussex.
Assistant Chief Constable Steve Barry, from Sussex Police, said the 11 were "highly likely" to have died in the incident.

Best to just wait for the official investigation, but I will still give My pennies worth, he had enough altitude to complete the loop, but the Hunter stopped responding to his instructions and dived .
As for the motorists it's just about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Shit happens.

The ghouls capturing the aftermath of the crash with their fucking smartphones and tablets makes one want to puke. What is it about the lower end of society these days that feels compelled to record anything and everything in their miserable, lacklustre and insignificant little lives. Do they imagine their innate worthlessness is somehow diminished by the act?

And while they are loooking at sanity being restored by banning these ludicrous events it would be nice if they could sort out those stupid selfish cunts who fly their craft ten feet above houses in Nong Prue. But Thailand being Thailand perhaps breath should not be held.

Seems to be a bone of contention. Shoreham Airport invites the Red Arrows to join them every year but they refuse to take part in any aerobatics on the grounds it is too dangerous (nowhere to come down safely in the event of an emergency they say).

no shortage of aircraft under 5 years old crashing either.

this was most likely down to a miscalculation by the pilot.

A interview on the radio today some aviation guy thinks nothing will change road's are dangerous, and it's an exceptable risk to have aircraft performing stunts over populated area's.
I will try and find a link in a local paper with his comments.

Can't find the radio interview found a statement from the RAFA.

The Royal Air Forces Association said safety standards at air displays in Britain "are among the very highest in the world".

Air Shows To Be 'Significantly Restricted

Vintage jet displays over land are limited to flypasts "until further notice" while authorities investigate the Shoreham crash.

"Significant" restrictions on UK air shows are being introduced in the wake of the fatal jet crash in Shoreham at the weekend.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has imposed new rules "until further notice" while the authorities conduct an investigation.
Vintage jet displays over land will be limited to flypasts.

Was listening today , I believe it was radio 4 where they were interviewing a pilot , and he was saying after watching the video closely of how it all panned out , he would not be surprised if the pilot had momentarily blacked out .

Perhaps because of the shape he is in now we will never know the answer to that one

I am no expert but looking at the video at about 1.57 doesn't it look like the pilot is trying to pull the nose up? As best as I can see the aircraft seems to almost 'flop' to the ground at the last minute. Maybe we have some video analysts on here who can say for sure?

Warning: footage may upset some people.

One of the fatalities is Maurice Abrahams, a old friend and neighbour of mine. He was 76 and used to suppliment his income by doing weddings in his vintage Daimler. You can see his car in one of Klong Toey's earlier images. Maurice was ex Coldstream Guards and Parachute Regiment. RIP Maurice.

Well the first bit of the official report into this tragedy came out today 4/9/15 and apparently according to the expert pilots involved in it one thing they seem to agree on is the fact the pilot was NOT high enough in the first place to begin this stunt .

The 3 main chunks of the aircraft have been examined and apparently as far as they can see it was all in order before the crash.

The plane was inspected immediately before takeoff at North Weald by an engineer and passed off as safe to fly ,, however pilots have noted on takeoff it seemed a little sluggish to normal .

There was NO black box carried on this craft .

    The investigation continues

We just had a free aerobatic display from a Spitfire about 1/2 mile from us.
Inverted loops, power dives, tail slides and a few i don't know the names of,the pilot was certainly giving it some.
Had my mouth wide open a few times waiting for a bang because he was pretty low pulling out of the loops.
