Gary Glitter set to be released from jail within months
    AP
    17 Dec, 2022 11:48 AM

Gary Glitter will reportedly be released from jail within months after serving half of his 16-year sentence.

The 78-year-old, who was imprisoned in 2015 for sex offences on three girls aged eight to 13, is also set to be electronically tagged as part of his release conditions, according to The Sun.

It reported on Friday Glitter may move back into his London apartment as he still has a fortune in the bank from his glam rock hits.

Glitter, real name Paul Gadd, was given a determinate term for his sex offences, which is a fixed period that cannot be reviewed, meaning his case will not have to go before the Parole Board.

    indeed.

Lord Brittan, a former home secretary, died in January 2015 with his reputation under a cloud after being targeted by Scotland Yard in a VIP sexual abuse investigation triggered by the testimony of a fantasist, Carl Beech.
public support for the case was increased by the influence of labour politician tom watson, the future deputy leader, who had campaigned in support of investigations into historic abuse.

watson met with beech prior to the start of the operation in regards to his story, and remained in contact with him as the operation began, showing his support of beech's allegations by accusing the named men and when interviewed about the matter, watson publicly spoke out against lord brittan, one of the accused, as being "close to evil" based on beech's accounts.

watson was promoted to the house of lords a couple of months ago by kneeler starmer, leader of the labour party.
