    ^^^^^^ @ Failsafe

Great post and the pictures are funny, but Photoshop is also a dangerous tool that can distort the truth. Obviously here it's humorous and appropriate, but it's also something that can be grossly misused in a malicious or deliberate manner.

^I'm waiting for the report on the "parting of the red sea," and Adam and Eve succumbing to partaking of the "Forbidden Fruit." Could be a real story of the coming Ice Age or decline of the Wooly Mammoths? Surely Brian was at all events? Perhaps an interview with Noah on the launching of his Ark?

It appears Brian Williams has temporarily stepped down while the network looks into his issues. This is a typical tactic to lay low until the smoke clears and people forget about what he did. It has been done time and time again when a celebrity has a melt down or commites a socially unacceptable faux pas. Tiger Woods and his publicized womenizing comes to mind.

Brian will be back pursuing his career in short order once the public has forgotten.

Pretty shallow thinking imo. This guy is getting burned on just about every channel, on every story he ever reported on, and you think he'll be back? Maybe selling "Potato Chips." Definitely not on "Recruiting Posters."

Next breaking story will be more on Hillary and Obama on Benghazi or her lapse of memory regarding coming under fire in Bosnia...once the lie is out there it has a life of its own, they cannot stop it. Circling the wagons will not make this one go away Rick. It shouldn't be allowed to run its course and then let back through the bathroom door. No way.

Ask Jane Fonda about people's memory...never forgotten and never forgiven.

Maybe you are right Itnt, but you and I have seen this happen to many and offenders return. Hilliary is one of them along with a few other politicians while some politicians never seem to recover from wrong doings like Richard Nixon

Celebreties seem to have more slack like Charkie Sheen, Tiger Woods, Lindsey Lohan, Jesse James and on and on and on. The public has faith in these individuals and mistakenly puts them on pedestals. They are human and humans make mistakes. Brian Williams has admitted making a mistake and only time will tell if the public will forgive and forget in his instance. Admitting a mistake is always the first step.

Personally, I think Brian Williams will recover and continue in his profession. Not really shallow thinking when you see others who have done worse come back.

^ He didn't "admit" his mistake, he was called out on it by Stars and Stripes and forced to retract the story .

People expect politicians to lie, they all do, they expect celebrities to fuck up.

^Beat me to it by seconds. Asshole didn't 'admit' shit - he was caught and outed. And then he continued to scramble, duck, bob and weave trying to make his lie disappear. He's toast - or certainly should be.

But in the US, who knows? Mr. Clinton's "I never slept with that woman" - now venerated rather than vilified. Mrs. Clinton's "when I was under sniper fire" - our next President. Who knows? Lying fuckers have come back before. The days of Dan Rather are long over. Now it's just talking heads - kind of like the current President.

After the fact yes, but he did admit his wrong doing unlike many others.

^Edward R. Morrow? Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, McNeil-Lear, Brian Williams, all lied at some point didn't they? Pompous assholes...CNN has a host of rejected so called misnamed journalists who have been outed.

As I have already said, I take all news with a grain of salt. After all it is the easiest way to manipulate public sentiment on any given subject. I never really believe anything politicians, newscasters or upper management tell me.

I have played the game too long and have seen how everyone lies. I believe more in things I can see and touch and even then one can not always be sure how the brain is going to play it back.

More than likely he was strongly asked by NBC/his superiors to step aside from his anchor duties for a short time.

The public's short attention span or corporate indifference probably will not pass by in this instance.....as the public image has been severely tarnish - and the corporate media criminals don't like this shit.

The powers to be are probably looking [and grooming] for the perfect candidate to replace Williams sooner than later. He won't be dismissed entirely from NBC, just replaced as the chief news presentator.

    Agree.

Although, we do find cases of fraud more common from those on the Left - e.g. Dan Rather & the 'Fake but Accurate' kind of journalism, right?

None of those folks made up false documents now did they?

BRIAN WILLIAMS: I GOT ROBBED AT GUNPOINT WHILE SELLING CHRISTMAS TREES

Long before Brian Williams was caught lying about his chopper coming under fire in Iraq, he claimed he’d stared down the barrel of a bandit’s gun as a teenager in sleepy Red Bank, NJ.

In a 2005 interview with Esquire magazine, Williams said a thief drew on him in the 1970s — leaving him “looking up at a thug’s snub-nosed .38 while selling Christmas trees out of the back of a truck.”

He told the tough-to-believe story at least four times, claiming he was trying to help a local church when the thief snatched his money on West Front Street and Riverside Avenue.

“That wasn’t a bad job, until a guy came up and stuck a .38-caliber pistol in my face and made me hand over all the money. Merry Christmas, right? Of course, I suddenly appreciated the other jobs I thought I hated,” he told New Jersey Monthly in 2008.

But longtime Red Bank residents think it’s a tall tale.

^Ask Chet Huntly and David Brinkly, they've got the scoop. Wind up Walter Cronkite for mesmerizing lost facts. Walter, once the most trusted man in America, now despised media personality.
