Can't blame capitalism for all of it. Governments colluding with the rich more the problem.

The 1950s in US, a period of prosperity with a low income gap is and example. Tax rate for folks earning (in today's $) over $1 million was 90%. It is now 39.6%.

Some may say this is wealth distribution and to a degree they would be correct. The revenues from the "rich" were used to develop much needed infrastructure. These infrastructure products produced decent wage paying jobs and benefited US economic prosperity up through the 1970s.

I've been watching the rich in Davos. One of the "subjects" for discussion is the income gap. Some lip service being paid but clear the rich have little or no interest in changing the status quo.

I remember my mother saying that this was also the case in England many years ago, but that despite the huge tax rate there were some people who were millionaires.
