its the human soup retro, learn to deal with it.

We'll lose a few of the weaker folks to suicide
if they have been brought up to see themselves as perpetual victims then so be it.

the constant bleatings of outrage from the sensitivity squad, of whom you seem to be a member, will just weaken us all more.

sticks and stones and all that.

if someone offends you, you dont whinge and complain and run to the lawyers office, you take strength, respect and honour from their unwarranted insults and ultimately walk taller.

the whingers deservedly become even bigger targets, and it serves them fucking right.

I didn't see where that waitress asked for money at all. She went on line to express her opinion and people sided with her. Her opinion is just as valid as any of ours is of her. That people online sent money to make up for the tip the assholes didn't leave wasn't because she asked them to.

She didn't call a lawyer, either.

Then the bullied will come back with a rifle and gun down the bully. It happens all the time but its the human soup, Tax. God planned it all.

As for tips being necessary, that's silly. Do you get such bad service in Asia where most places don't expect tips? How about at Sizzler. The tip is silly anyways. JMO

Assumption and hyperbole, not a good pairing...

    I don't assume that at all, I think it's a complex issue.

What is offensive and what people choose to be offended by are very different things... This waitress has chosen to be offended, imo, for financial gain and to empower herself. This is deceitful, and doesn't add to the cause of homosexuality. As is so often the case, somebody from a minority group, who has NOT been offended, is choosing to play the PC card for personal benefit - in this case financial...

You didn't write the whole sentence, did you now?

She set up an account because they asked her to.

    And why shouldn't she?

You want to make out that the customers were right in expressing their disgust and keeping their money in their pockets in this situation, but the waitress doesn't have any right to put money in hers?

    Sorry Misskit - that's untrue.

In fact, a Pay Pal account Morales set up at the behest of readers has already raised thousands of dollars
she plans to donate part of the money to the Wounded Warrior program for combat veterans in need.

She was in the marines, killing people, people wanting to kill her, but she feels 'thoroughly offended', something wrong there I'm afraid.

Her violent intent and threat is clear...

See my post #37. I said there are fags here just like anywhere else. I also said the boys don't dress up like girls to the degree they do in Thailand. They are also not as accepted here as in Thailand. If you disagree with that, you must be seeing a different Philippines than I am.

I imagine there are fag bars here, as well as bars where boys dress as girls - they simply aren't on my circuit.

^Retro, she's an aggressive alpha male sort; it's very clear, stop trying to defend her. She was slighted, wrongly, but her reaction was pathetic and threatening. Oh yeah, she made loads of profit out of the situation too, and is rather enjoying the limelight.

Also, please don't forget that only one side of the story has been written here. I'd like to hear the other side.

^^I think Sabang was using some Aussie sarcasm there, mate... Not kindly either...

    Clearly.

If I was making a moral point and some people offered to send me money I'd certainly say NO!

She is a waitress. She needs all the money she can get. That is why it is so bad for those people not to leave a tip.

She's a former Marine and a Fox News fan. She believes Benghazi was the worst thing to happen in US history. That ought to get a few of you on board.

And she thinks Obama is a Kenyan Communist.

^ Don't know where you are from, Tax, but waitress in the USA are paid a fraction of minimum wage. Their pay comes from tips. It is not optional.

Making a moral point, and standing to your ideals is very different from making a large financial profit and threatening a family who wrote a polite note to you and have different values.

As far as the comment about at least she didn't get a lawyer, after reading the details of this incident, her Facebook comments, etc, there probably is a legal case her...

I suggest Lesbian and Gay waitstaff observe their customers more closely to get ready for a shock.

    Potential signs of problem customers:

    1) They say a prayer at the table and dress 1950's.

    2) They wear hats like these...

    3) Wear shirts like these..

    4) And have one of these

I think to not pay a tip because you don't like someone is fine.

To write what you don't like about them on the bill is a bit gratuitous (intended).

No need for it. Bit pious really.

im from the uk, optional 10% tips for good service in a restaurant.

in the usa tips are expected, but there is no legal requirement to pay a tip, so therefore they are optional and not compulsory. businesses including restaurants with less than a $500k pa turnover can pay a lower minimum wage, and those who take jobs in those restaurants expect to make up their wages by tips for good service.

only a fool would tip for rude or poor service.
