OK, you said we can use electromagnetic pulse to leave this gravity? Why not use our planet, pull the gravity from the next body? From there, we skip throughout the universe. Some planets will have more push or pull?
Just a thought

And we will be stuck with bottle rockets for a while yet. Nothing even on the horizon to replace them for launching from earth. Except that some whacky concept may prove workable. I am planning to make a thread for that but it is more about energy production.Originally Posted by Carrabow
A lot of improvements on the way though in space, except for lack of funding. VASIMR (Space News thread) or other ion drives are not the same as ram jets or scram jets. Closer to those is the british approach of SKYLON. If they can pull that off maybe they could make present rocket technology obsolete. I am hopeful but sceptical and anyway that would be 30 years in the future.
See CaptainNemo's post about it.
Skylon (Space News thread)
The RAMJET concept may be old but it was never built sucdessfully yet, it is just a concept. And probably not even good for spaceflight but might have military applications. I am less interested in that.
Ok,
We need a new propulsion system.
Gravity seems to be the answer. The funny part about this concept... Our Scientists do not comprehend it?????
Another quote:
Gravity is equal to the mass of it's body.
why not launch ships like we did brining the guys back from the moon?
It would be like Hop-Scotch across our universe?
