    go on then Chuch.
Give me an example of something positive that the bitch did for anyone on less than 50,000 pound a year.

Oh yes, she let them buy their council houses cheap which meant there were none left at all.

The ones that bought the council houses would have been happy. That's positive.

What would have happened to the "workers" that lost their jobs.If Maggie had not been around,do you think they would still be employable today?

Not that theses "dark ages", whatever that's supposed to mean, would have had any impact on your career prospects as an English teacher in Thailand...

Most of us who were around at the time pretty much anywhere in the UK could spend the rest of our lives posting this thread about how evil this "Lady" was.
    Enough said.
I won't touch this thread again.

And a colonial supremacist to boost. Still thinks civilisation in Pakistan or the ME ceased to exist when the Empire withdrew.

She was great weren't she sorted out the argies in next to no time, iraq and a 15 day war sorted them out, she should have executed the welsh cottage arsonists though

I'd have to assume that Marmite is too young to remember Thatcher as she really was.

No possibility of serious discussion here.

Any chance of someone changing the title of this thread.

How about "Margaret Thatcher to be dipped in Acid"

Hell a lot of police retired rich due to Maggie, somebody had to whip those dirty scumbag miners into shape, also she ruled America at that time with reagan as her puppet, damn she was good The Falklands war brought a shite load of illegal guns into the UK and everyone made on that, the soldiers were selling them at 90 quid a go with rounds, she didn't ponce around like that Bush bloke waging a war or terror on the poor ragheads for years on end, she sorted that situation out in 15 days, she has more balls than any 10 Yanks combined

To be fair, there weren't any pesky ragheads in the Falklands to deal with, just a few sheep and some Argentinians on boats and antiquated planes. The Brits still managed to lose a few guys in the exercise, some fell over board and couldn't swim, so I heard.

I don't think America was involved in that war stroller, if they had been it would still be going on today

Strangely, a policy that the Labour Party re-introduced just this week

Sorry Dougal, got to disagree. Churchill, in the important part of the world, would always be remember for two things (i.e. - not an "non-entity") - (a) as the advocate (idiot) of Gallipoli; and (b) as the runner-away during the Boer War.

This I agree with - and I cannot for the life of me remember the name of her PR guy (later to be made a Lord of the Realm) who drummed this up so well - probably the first "spin doctor"

Maggie - if she achieved anything was to ensure that manufacturing Britain disappeared.

And I never I understood why the Liberals were not (and still aren't really) [post 1940] taken seriously in the UK

^25 quid was worth a lot in those days Shit, dole was only about 8 quid

What about the "brain drain" they all talked about - the only person who left was Rod "fucking" Stewart - hardly a brain drain

Regan got in on the back of Iran - a point that was to later prove to be dubious at best. Magie got in on the Winter - which had people known what the result would have been, may not have happened.

With Maggie Britain shot itself in the foot. It's unlikely they will recover in my life time. Certainly lost the "Great" in Britain.

In short, she was - well I would like to say cnut (but that's obvious) -so I will have to go with Bitch
