can't these have their own place somewhere?

i already avoid the Issues forum but now it seems this nonsense is cropping up everywhere.

i came here to have a good time (as far as that is possible on an internet forum without many women) and find qurans in the toilet and US flags upside down to be a bit depressing.

It's still mainly members and issues. The issues place is for politics and mambers is just for slagging each other off. If you got into you user CP you can filter out any forums your not intrested in.

Obviously there are folks on both sides that seem to enjoy that kinda shit. most of it gets moved to the members area when it gets too vociferous. if you notice a thread has gone way off topic in a shit storm, report it. Folks here for light-hearted fun or serious discussion should have to wade through that shit.
If you filter the membere area though you might miss some "interesting" photography threads or the like...

As the OP states it does pop up - in some threads.

Threads that are related to the overall topics.

If someone wants to start a thread on an entirely different subject in Issues, they can. And if the Islam vs. anti-Islam or whatever arguments encroaches on these other threads the posters can be told to go to the related threads to continue their debates in those already existing threads.

Normally abusive stuff just gets dumped in the members forum, the issues forum has stricter moderation policies than most of the rest of the forums as there arguements do tend to get a bit heated.
