New Moderation policy at TD

I seem to remember a while back DD saying that there had only been a couple of threads ever deleted off here and generaly most of the posts that were deleted was cos they were duplicate (I do that a lot).

Anyway the mods here seem to be a lot more active lately with a couple of threads gone in the last 2 days and what apperes to be lots of posts deleted. Is this just a coincidence of a lot of crap all at the same time or is there a new moderation policy?

I keep hearing rumours of these deleted posts, but I can't find them, and they would show in the logs.

I'm only going on rumors of deleted posts except the one by smeg as I have'nt seen any myself, but what about the threads MHZ was just asking about one and CMN deleted one last night.

Stuff can only be chucked in the trash bin, when it is dumped into the trash it has to be titled, the mod that trashes it gets to title it, smegs post was not deleted as he well knows, I moved it to the trash.
Stuff in the trash stays there for 2 days, after that it is soft deleted for 2 days, then after that it is hard deleted, also in the main trash bin nobody can edit or touch a post once it is in there, this way there is at least a 4 day window if the post was trashed unfairly.

Well, NickA had a thread going late yesterday evening where he declared his devotation to CMN.. It was up for 10 -15 minutes and has not been seen since then.. What about making posts/threads invisible ?

Ok thanks for the reply, but for an ordinary member deleting, trashing, making invisible are pretty much the same.i.e the post is gone. Anyway I was'nt really asking about any specific instances, just asking if there had been a change of policy for the mod's to become more active. I take it from your reply there has'nt....good

A couple of mine and a few other posts where deleted on the minorities thread, there was some public speculation about who deleted them until Marmite owned up to it.

I am not impressed.

Who are the mods here, anyway? Why all the secrecy?
I don't care when it's just duplicate posts and porn which get cleaned up, but when threads and comments disappear without explanation I am starting to wonder what's going on?

I doubt whether there's anything sinister happening.

But it's good manners to let someone know when they've posted something that had to be deleted.

am i missing something..............also some idiot sent me a PM, asking me to stop spamming..........WTF........... there is no solicitation at all, it's an informational thread.

after i post this, i'm going to report it as abusive, so it gets noticed. please advise me if i am doing something wrong.
