When I read a thread, I have the option of clicking on the selection that is supposed to take me to the first unread post in the thread. But when I do it, it always takes me to the last post in the thread. What gives?

Are you forgetting what you have already read![]()
Not at all. It always takes me to the last post in the thread.
I think this happens whenever you click the "Mark All Forums Read" button. At that point all messages are marked as having been read. So, the first unread post will be the first one posted after you clicked on the "Mark All Forums Read" button.
If you always want to go to the first really unread message then never click on the "Mark All Forums Read" button.
Never once did that.Originally Posted by buadhai
Works fine for me even though I hadn't noticed that feature until I read this thread.
Ha, ha, ha! How could you possible have nearly 5000 posts and not know about that feature.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

I never once clicked on the "mark all forums as read".
Then I'm baffled as to what's going on. The "Go To First New Post" button works for me as long as I don't click the "Mark All Forums Read".Originally Posted by BreadFan
I just checked this out and clicked on a bunch of threads that I've never read. The "First New Post" button took me to the first post after about 1:00 PM which is when I last clicked the "Mark All Forums Read" button.
So, it seems to be working properly for me.
You're clicking the correct button, right?

I most certainly am hitting the right button.
I had to make sure because I'm so dim it took me some time to find it....Originally Posted by BreadFan
