Im pretty sure there were a few dodgy adds when DD was about.

I do get what Hillbilly is saying to a degree. If you're sat on a shared computer in an airport lounge for example.

I'd be more worried of opening a thread in the fruit or pet section with Withnallstoke down as last poster

I saw Bettyboo lurking a few minutes ago, so be careful out there

likewise i accept the ads because it pays for the place, the pimping is getting very high profile on the pages and i get to work with some rather prudish, hypercritical conservative types. I am thinking of using an add block and therein is the issue for admin. one we install it, its there until we remove it... how likely is that to happen.

still if the pimps ordering bigger adds, i guess there enough of a market from TD's to make it worth his while and I guess those chaps won't use the add block.

^ will check it out. probably doesnt support many (if any) extensions yet though.

Strangely, ad-block plus won't block the teak door ads for me on firefox and windows 7. Don't know if it's another extension causing issues. It works fine on Chrome, regardless, I've already blocked the avatars. I don't like having to remember that I'm not signed in when I use another computer or send links to someone and then find the ads are offensive to them.

Not met any that I'd care to break bread with Looper. Its been my personal experience that they're not much more than glorified "plumbers." If I didn't have insurance they would send me down the road to take whats available at the local meat market. Pay and stay, no pay, get out. Only the rich and over insured receive the best. God complex is quite common in their occupation. You need them, but its a crap shoot Looper. Advertisers and used car salesmen don't have you're life in their hands, thats why I rate them less risk than the surgeons.

I adblock but if you accidentally click the hidden ad your predictive search brings up that site. This happened to me in front of my family two weeke ago with the other hooker site advert.

Quite simple really. If you hate the new management, and can't deal with the ads, just don't log on. I don't like that porn pimp ad, but I can tune it out. I have no money invested in TD, therefore I don't get a vote in how they advertise. The only vote posters get is to stay or go. I choose to stay as long as I still enjoy the forum.

I am no prude but i used to look in on TD in my office and at home in the evening.
Its not so enjoyable with comments from family and co-workers or customers about Escort services and Viagra on the top of the home page. Is it necessaary ?

There is ways to eliminate the banners.

They know I fly through BKK on my way to Cambodia,Laos and Burma 3-4 times a year.
They know I am not married too, but I take your point.Its just that I have often referred my daughter and some friends to TD for excellent quality trip reports.
