    It's all about burger king.

You can't buy a McDonalds franchise in Thailand. The Master Franchisee is McThai Company Ltd, and they own and operate all McDonalds in the kingdom, they do not issue franchises to individuals or anyone else for that matter.

I'm cool on most mac stuff.
I use em about once a fortnight, normally have a chicken legend and chips or wedges. Usually sunday nights after a 10Km walk.
No problem with big macs or hamburgers.

Prolly wouldnt eat em if I saw em being made, but you can apply that thinking to sausages, mince, and even smoking if you spent a day in a cancer ward where guys are in bed ripped open after surgery.

I dont know if the staff are still gobbing in the burgers, probably are, have seen a couple of tv programmes bringing this practice to the publics attention

Before longhaul flights I always fill up on a burgerking and fries cos you dont know if you can eat some of the stuff on the flight.

actually they do, the "mix" is tailored to the local taste for each country

therefore bigmac in France has a specific taste, and bigmac in Thailand has another specific taste

bigmac in the US taste like shit, and so it does in England, which is normal since in those countries people have no idea when it comes to cooking good food, and they will eat anything

maybe so, but you were referring to places within a single country, France

so, do you think they make them individually for each place in France?

^ OK we will have to put that down to your English, BF

I suppose France likes an extra portion of penis whilst Germany prefers more anal sphincters in the mix

^ actually you do raise a valid question,

some branches are better than others, in terms of quality, not mix per se, even though the bad quality will make the whole bigmac experience taste like shit

that could explain why MtD is so frustrated with bigmac where he lives, it must remind him of his native England

Why would I be frustrated that McShit makes food unfit for humans? Every restaurant that does burgers in Udon does a better job than them so I'm spoilt for choice.

The Thai baht is rising in value which makes things more expensive for foreigners and less expensive for locals.

how can they be? they all get the same stuff and all cook it the regulatory way

    they are all crap

Marmite might not like Macs because they are shit, nothing to do with England

as for your continual jibes about English food, you are a little dated in that; with the massive influx of immigrants in the last few decades, the food in England has become excellent, the chefs world class

unfortunately for France, their hypocrisy and paternalism has led to their food taking a massive dive in quality, a real shame. Spain and Italy lead the way in excellent regional cooking, and top chefs
    I have reported your post

    indeed, they are

if the BigMac were imported, they would be cheaper, but that's not the case, they are made locally, therefore expensive

that's because quality is expensive, and it's something most French restaurants can't afford anymore. Spain food is good but it's "cheap" cuisine, probably fine for a Brit like you, you wouldn't tell the difference. Italy in some ways is closer to French than you would think, great dishes but they can be expensive because Italians are very strict about the quality of their ingredients, something the French have compromised.

pretentiousness, something the french excel at, especially with their rather mediocre cuisine, is what drives the price.

People can argue all they want about the quality of the food, but I sure wish that I had enough money to setup a McD here in Thailand.
Damn straight. They are paying the employees at most 200 baht a day versus probably near that much per hour in the States. So labor costs are much less here but the costs of the food is the same if not higher. Someone is making a mint.

And these people, the ones driving cars that cost more than their employees can hope to make in a lifetime, are bitching and moaning about having to pay 300 baht a day.

You would think, especially in the tourist areas, that they could employ people that could actually take an order correctly in English or Thai.
    Why?
Do they have McDonalds workers in the tourist areas of the Gold Coast that can speak Japanese or Chinese?
Who cares anyway, what sort of sicko goes to Thailand to eat Big Macs?

no BF, I am talking about excellent food

but as you have little experience of such, never mind your comments. Relying on expats you know is hardly the best way of judging quality

you are way out of date and know little about what is going on in the restaurant world in the UK

as for Italy being closer to France, well they are abutting! but Italy's food is far better nowadays, partly due to quality and partly passion, which the French have lost in the most part
