Do you trust those sms bank notifications?

2 days ago at about 07:27

Available balance for account ******** is THB ____,531.05

Exactly one week and one minute later I get this:

Available balance for account ******** is THB ____,521.05

So what does this mean? In the past seven days I have been sleepwalking and withdrawn ten baht from some special new ATM?

    Or something more sinister?

SCB send me one every Monday morning advising me of the balance.

I also receive one every time there is an ATM transaction. In this country I think that is a good idea.

Too right. I think they are great.

I set my Kassikorn ATM and Credit Card up to send SMS's. Whenever I use my credit card I receive a text before the checkout girl has even printed the receipt off for me to sign. The same if I buy something on the net using paypal linked to my credit card.

I also like the OTP (one time password) SMS's that you have to use for internet banking. Good security feature.

I agree with Thormaturge, they are charging you for the SMS, my Missus gets charged on her phone and doesn't know what, I reckon she's signed up for something, she's gonna change her sim

I also agree with TFP, you can see straight away if someones rifling your bank account

I guess 10 baht a month I can live with. Every time I go to the ATM I think somebody has sent me a message, imagine my disappointment when I realize it's automated.

Scampy, why did you include a ______ in front of your balance when we all know your balance is about 521 baht ?

Exactly- it's some brilliant person who figured out a way to steal 10 baht a month from everybody, and living like a rock star.
