Let alone the foreigners who are disgustingly obese and stuff their faces daily
with local cheap buffets, it's Thai people who are seemingly become fat shits.

Little porker kids and their Fatty parents, Thai women with hang down flabby upper arms , Thai men with guts that rival many German and Australians.

Yep, there are some seriously obese Thai kids (and parents) waddling round the shopping malls these days. A day out in the mall followed by a bucket of KFC seems to be a cultural excursion for a lot of Thais nowadays.

So Thais normally don't eat fried food? (have you seen a Thai omelette? - 3 litres of oil to fry a few eggs!- then swill in a pint of that "Naman Hoy" 60% sugar....Western food hasn't made them fat, they have done it themselves)

The deep fried shit they consume is horrendous - no need for Mc Donalds or Burger King - just take a look at virtually every food stall in every market - all they eat is FRIED SHIT.

At least I would hope/expect the bigger chains to change their cooking oil - I wouldn't touch a carcenogenic fried chicken from the Mom and Pop store...not if hell had me, the oil out of your car is probably cleaner.

I doubt his anything to do with the food, more like more money, more TV, more TV games, more sitting in internet cafes, and less time out farming like the slaves they should be.

They would deep fry oil if they were given the chance.

At the end of the day, who ever gets fucked and fat from eating crap has no one but themselves to blame - it isn't like Burger King or KFC nipped around to your house at night and stuffed your kids full of fried shit whilst they were sleeping now is it?

Sugar /carb addiction can be as addictive as cigarettes or the worst drugs once you get hooked. It may not be the same for everyone of course. All the sugar of the modern world is ruining the health of a great part of the world. The sugar is in everythign these days. Thai food in the past wasn't sweet like it is today because the cane sugar just wasn't available in the old days. Is sugarcane even an indigenous plant in this area of the world?

It's no easier controlling your eating than giving up cigarettes or other hard drugs. You can go cold turkey with other things but you can't with food. If you have any sympathy for alcoholics or others hooked on drugs you might consider having some for those struggling with food/weight issues. JMHO.

Just as an addition I think the Thais pile it on with their insistance on eating all that bloody fat on the meat ,, especially the pork belly ,, when I cook the Sunday joint roast pork , the missus is hovering and as soon as its out the oven the crackling and surrounding fat soon dissapear ,,, but then she is only 45 kilo,s ,, but then a mysterious thing takes place ,the inches seem to go on me

Yeah I've noticed it too over the last couple of years / visits.

Thailand has one of the finest cuisines on earth, why not revel in that fact and embrace it rather than eating corporate crap from a company that can't even use the word 'chicken' in its name because of the well known questionable source of its meat products.

And McD's, who famously lost a massive beef supply deal..the beef went to a dog food company instead, who obviously paid the higher price.

Absolutely, Why on earth would any Thai want to eat McD's, Sizzler, Burger King, KFC, Pizza Company at 3 to 5X the cost of healthy food is simply hard to fathom. I mean the US eats this crap as it is 2 to 4x cheaper then it is to eat healthy. Also in the US, stores are spread out to far to go drive at $4 a gallon. Here you have food every 2 feet and most are small portioned as they should be.

I do agree that the introduction of Thai buffet's is not helping either. It is actually rather sad. Soon all the BS will start here when the "Fatties" cant get around. Stores will need ramps, All the handicapped horseshit will start. In fact just last week there was a display at Central Mall with the personal electric cart that fat ass Americans use everywhere and are supplied as a shopping courtesy at Target, Walmart, Costco. They even have them now where you can tow a shopping cart. How wrong is that?

$4 is middle grade. I think national avg is mid 3's now. In metro areas where they can bend you over and ass rape you they do, some are very high $4's as my friends and Dad had recently told me. They know you are not going to drive 30 miles to save $25 cents a gallon. Unless of course it includes a stop over at the drive through at Burger King for a BK Broiler, Onion rings and a 55 gallon drum of Coke that they strap to the roof and insert a 4 way IV for all car members.

I hate to say it SoCal but there are quite a few of them, especially around BKK area where the crap food is highly available and more money is here for them to afford it. Today as I walked Central Mall to pay my tele bill, McD's and KFC were packed wall to wall with Thai's chowing down the crap with their super sized 32 oz cokes. I would have taken a pic but forgot. and more concerning there were a great portion of them seriously fat compared to what I consider a Thai standard. its just a matter of time.

That is not far from the truth. But usually this happens in areas where they must be making some money as it is expensive shit to eat here. US this is cheap fast food. Here it it could be 10% of a persons monthly salary for just one sitting based on 5 to 6k baht a month.
