I'm seeing more and more fatties everyday here in Thailand.

Let alone the foreigners who are disgustingly obese and stuff their faces daily
with local cheap buffets, it's Thai people who are seemingly become fat shits.

Little porker kids and their Fatty parents, Thai women with hang down flabby upper arms , Thai men with guts that rival many German and Australians.


Basically Fatties are nasty.

Yep, there are some seriously obese Thai kids (and parents) waddling round the shopping malls these days. A day out in the mall followed by a bucket of KFC seems to be a cultural excursion for a lot of Thais nowadays.

The Thais are nowhere near Pom levels.

Well it was just a matter of time before foreign businesses saw opportunities to bring their fast deep fried foods over here to feed Thai's. Just wait for drive up restaurants.

I too am seeing more and more obese Thai's on a daily basis. Mostly young kids

Yeah I've noticed it too over the last couple of years / visits.

Proper fat little fuckers. Probably from wealthier families - fried food, no playing outside (don't want them to get a sun tan now do we??) and definitely no walking anywhere - although, that could be applicable to ANY Thai not just the fat biffers.

I know its been said before but I think the proofs in the pudding ( so to speak ) when the Mum,s went to Iceland the Dads went to Thailand

There certainly are an increase of fatties in Thailand, and it's a shame that the general hatred of the farang hasn't stretched to the boycotting of farang establishments like McD's or KFC.

Thailand has one of the finest cuisines on earth, why not revel in that fact and embrace it rather than eating corporate crap from a company that can't even use the word 'chicken' in its name because of the well known questionable source of its meat products.

And McD's, who famously lost a massive beef supply deal..the beef went to a dog food company instead, who obviously paid the higher price.

Definitely a lot of squarebodies around. A heck of a lot of Thai girls are turning into square bodies at younger ages. You could blame the Chinese genes and pork eatin' that the Chinese have brought to Thailand too. Real Thais eat Chicken. Those all-you-can-eat Korean pork buffets for 79 baht aren't helping either.

Absolutely, Why on earth would any Thai want to eat McD's, Sizzler, Burger King, KFC, Pizza Company at 3 to 5X the cost of healthy food is simply hard to fathom. I mean the US eats this crap as it is 2 to 4x cheaper then it is to eat healthy. Also in the US, stores are spread out to far to go drive at $4 a gallon. Here you have food every 2 feet and most are small portioned as they should be.

I do agree that the introduction of Thai buffet's is not helping either. It is actually rather sad. Soon all the BS will start here when the "Fatties" cant get around. Stores will need ramps, All the handicapped horseshit will start. In fact just last week there was a display at Central Mall with the personal electric cart that fat ass Americans use everywhere and are supplied as a shopping courtesy at Target, Walmart, Costco. They even have them now where you can tow a shopping cart. How wrong is that?

If you really need social group to demonise in order to give you a sense of self worth try picking on a group that actually deserve your condemnation and not a group of people who in all likelihood have a mental disorder and are preyed upon by multimillion dollar food companies.

I hate to say it SoCal but there are quite a few of them, especially around BKK area where the crap food is highly available and more money is here for them to afford it. Today as I walked Central Mall to pay my tele bill, McD's and KFC were packed wall to wall with Thai's chowing down the crap with their super sized 32 oz cokes. I would have taken a pic but forgot. and more concerning there were a great portion of them seriously fat compared to what I consider a Thai standard. its just a matter of time.

That is not far from the truth. But usually this happens in areas where they must be making some money as it is expensive shit to eat here. US this is cheap fast food. Here it it could be 10% of a persons monthly salary for just one sitting based on 5 to 6k baht a month.

I don't reckon they're that bad. Quite a healthy meal if eaten in the right way. Loads of veg, seafood, fair cuts of meat and a nice broth - plus it fills you up quite quickly, which is why the conniving fuckers only charge 80 baht for it.

I agree 100%. I eat at Moo Ka Ta's pretty regular. You CAN eat good and for a couple of bucks and the soup broth does fill you up supporting your finishing comment about cost....

Of course there are few that go, drop 10 Leo's, eat all the beef and every noodle plate available..Those folks waddle away like a fat peking duck...and it cost them a helluva lot more then 80 baht....
