My parents (both still living) have my name on their houses and major investments- when the time comes, I won't have to deal with any taxes as I'm already listed as an 'owner'- I will simply take sole possession of their assets.

I would think as long as there is trust within the family, this would work pretty much anywhere.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Yes, can do that in the UK, I think the original owner of the house who gifts the house to the other person has to live for a further seven years before the IHT is no longer applicable.

Australia has no inheritance tax as does many other countries so why should the English have to pay it?

Could it be the Immigration policy that admits all and sundry and passes the welfare burden on to the average working man. ?

The wealthy don't really care as they have no real reason to worry about money but as per usual its the working class who must have a hard look at taxes and raise the question of an unfair Inheritance tax.

Australia has possibly the most punitive income tax regime on Earth which is one reason why it does not have an inheritance tax.

It is also a huge land mass with mineral reserves it can sell, but with a comparatively small population.
