    New address book brings sadness

I just couldnt keep my old address book any longer, no amout of sellotape was holding it together.
And so a new book was started.
So many names now long gone, is what i found.
I am almost 60 and have met some wonderful and facinating people in my life.
Time passes so quickly, and i miss them.
Make the most of your friendships guys.

Bloody hell Bower that,s a touching little post mate ,, bit heavy for this time of the evening ,, but its a good reminder for all of us as we go down the old conveyor belt to try and leave a bit of goodness behind for others to remember us by .

BTW may I be so pretentious as to suggest to avoid the new address book falling to bits ,, stick em on a memory stick I am sure you can still fill an 8gig stick up with your mate,s
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

In that case you're a rich man Bower, you've got a decade or so on me but I too to my shame have let lots of good people get away, as is the life of a wondering soul.

I envy the young people, they just need a Email address and they don't lose contact with friends as used to happen all the time

They do allow old people to have email addresses now. Don't be afraid.

As my dear old Mum used to say you can take most things away from someone but your memories, especially the positive ones are the most valuable.

Look on the bright side: you only need a smaller and cheaper address book now.

I envy you guys with friends.

^ I remember, very early one morning, watching a camel walk up the street towards us, turned out to be a girl with a rucksack.

    What did it mean?

I have the same - an old address book with numbers and piccies of lots of people. Perhaps they are dead - I hope not.

I even have the phone numbers of people who are dead, still in my phone. Just can't give them up. They were too young to die. I never call the numbers, but it is just the fact that they are still on the list that gives me the feeling that they are still with me.

    Silly, huh?

I know what you mean Patsy, when i had finished writing up the new address book, i couldnt bring myself to throw away the old one. It will spend its days in a drawer of my desk.

The new book was a good excercise though, i have even sent hand written letters to some friends of old that i have not seen for many a year. 4 replies already, all by email !.............
