I don't even "blame" governments because this is what the powerful ones have done throughout history. I blame citizens who do not stand up to their governments to put an end to unwarranted military actions in sovereign nations.
Whatever nasty things (economic ruin, attacks by enemy combatants or having their country flooded with refugees) befall citizens as a result of allowing their governments to do so should not complain.

The American government had no desire to capture this ex-CIA operative alive. His revelations regarding his relationship with the Bush family would not have been acceptable to the ruling elite.
A bullet in the head and over the side was the best solution all round.

Not for him it wasn't.
A nice breakfast and a copy of Hello magazine, followed by a game of tennis and shopping for hats bags and shoes with his girlfriends before a light lunch with a few white wine spritzers, then a pedicure.
That would be an even better solution I think he'd agree.

Totally true that, apart from the dire state of the US economy, the 44 million who are collecting food stamps, the droves of unemployed masked by bullshit statistics, the state of the dollar and the fact that the whole world pay the premium for the resulting surge in commodity prices, couple that with the fact he came in and promised change when all he has actually done is suck the cock of virtually every big name on Wall Street, yeah I'd say he has nothing to be ashamed ofOriginally Posted by Norton

Obama has completely sold out,
I'm a little puzzled by this 'gutsy call' story, taking the history of the US into account. Seems like virtually 'just another day' type operation, ignoring the identity of the target, which everybody would have if OBL wasn't there to welcome them.
Then there is the argument re who was president during the various helicopter crashes. WTF has that got to do with the crashes? American logic?
I suppose if there are equipment failures then someone has to be blamed, and that is where the buck stops...supposedly
Actually I have it from my CIA friends that they didn't kill him. They simply put him on a plane to London where he will blend in nicely with a few hundred thousand other illegal Pakistani immigrants living there at present.
But to be honest I doubt very seriously if the SEAL team that killed him was at all interested in taking him prisoner. That was probably decided in the negative before they started the operation. Any real intel information he had was years old, and he has been out of the command loop to long to be in any real position of leadership. Alive he would have been a target for a terrorist operation as an attempt to free him. He being dead resolves all those problems very neatly.
The decision to kill him rather than risk capturing was also a political decision..dead he is valuable, as a symbol for the rednacks to cackle over...alive he is worthless. He really hasn't been the "leader" of Al Queda for at least two years, he has been hiding with only limited contact except for a few close trusted friends knowing where he was.
And I am sure the Pakastani government did NOT want him captured alive...just for the reason that alive he might provide informatin on EXACTLY how he happened to be living in Pakistan for all those years.
All in all, his being dead rather than captured alive solves a lot of problems for everyone involved.
To mix metaphors .... they say to let a sleeping dog lie...but a lying dog sleeps with the fishes.
P.S. If you think the U.S. goverment is going to provide honest factual information about how he actually died...you're rather naive. It will be all "smoke and mirrors", for the news reporters to suck up and regurgitate for a quick headline and the "great unwashed" to believe. That's why the U.S. government (irregardless of which party is in power) employs "media consultants" and "public information officers", as they call them.

don't you know that Da Vinci, Galileo , Einstein, Edison and others of their ilk are secreted away in caves in Colorado inventing brainwave machines to manipulate the minds of American citizens. They have yet been unable to achieve on other nationalities due to something called logic.
