A few of you may remember this story or have seen the movie/documentary before but I'd just got to Thailand when it was on so I missed it in the news.

It chronicles the life and death of bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell. The film consists of Treadwell's own footage of his interactions with grizzly bears before he and his girlfriend were killed and eaten by a bear in 2003, and of interviews with people who knew or were involved with Treadwell. The footage he shot was later found, and the final film was co-produced by Discovery Docs, the Discovery Channel's theatrical documentary unit, and Lions Gate Entertainment. The film's soundtrack is by British singer songwriter and guitarist Richard Thompson.

Some friends told me about it last night so I downloaded it from piratebay and watched it before I went to bed.

The guy obviously loves bears but he's a freakin nut job. He's up there with Glitterman and I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did before he got eaten because the dude has so many near misses and in none of his encounters does he seem to comprehend how much danger he's in.

I enjoyed the bits where he's with the foxes though, he'd built up a kind of pet like connection with them.

Here's the 1st part available on youtube. The first 3 mins gives you a good look at his personality.

Before I woke up this morning I had a little dream about him giving an instructional video about how to put up a tent when surrounded by bears. It was bloody hilarious but unfortunately you won't get to see it.

Timothy Treadwell, 1957 - 2003, He should have stuck to foxes.
