Is DJ Pat Charles Sobhraj's bastard son?

I've followed the life of Charles Sobhraj over many many years, an interesting fellow and in my mind one of the world's great attention seeking whores.....

    Which brings me to wonder......

Is DJ Pat the bastard son of Charles Sobhraj?

    DJ Pat

    Charles Sobhraj

By the way, the book Bikini Murders is just fiction, not his story at all.....

Wow, the resemblance is uncanny. And the nature.

Hatchand Bhaonani Gurumukh Charles Sobhraj (born April 6, 1944), better known as Charles Sobhraj, is a serial killerof Indian and Vietnamese origin, who preyed on Western tourists throughout Southeast Asia during the 1970s. Nicknamed "the Serpent"

Apparently Pat's a snakey fucker who preys on the Western Social Security system.

"Sobhraj was not driven to murder by deep-seated, violent impulses, but as a means to sustain his lifestyle of adventure"

Charles murdered to sustain his lavish lifestyle whereas Pat sponged off Teflers and did runners from Foodland

His cunning and cultured personality, made him a celebrity long before his release from prison. Sobhraj enjoyed the attention, charging large amounts of money for interviews and film rights

Pat enjoys the attention too and writes short stories of his life on internet forums for free

Sobhraj continued to move back and forth between France and Indochina with the family, not feeling at home in either place. As a teenager he developed personality problems and turned to petty crime.

    Sounding familiar Pat ?

Facing mounting suspicions by French authorities, he and a now pregnant Chantal left France for Asia to escape arrest. After travelling through Eastern Europe on fake documents and robbing people who befriended them, they arrived in Bombay in 1970

What year were you born Pat ?

While in Bombay, the couple made a good impression on the expatriate community there.

In Kabul, the couple continued robbing tourists on the "hippie trail"

Charles was joined in Istanbul by André, his younger brother

    ^ The father of Pat's cousin ??

Charles Sobhraj - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Is Pat the bastardised son of Charles Sobrhraj?

    Could be, could be

Nothing gay about drinking a nice pina colada out of a coconut pat, and I bet you won a fair few quid for wearing that shirt out that night.

That shirt stayed in Koh Chang, as the pocket got torn late one night, in the heat of passion I think.

I read the book 'Serpentine' about Sobraj, whilst working in Thailand then, 30 yrs. ago.
This guy could ' out Manson' Manson, on the manuliputive evil side of crime, yet he has rarely got a mention over the years for his exremely cunning escapes from many jails around SE Asia.
Clever guy, but watch who you sit next to on airplane when a friendly person .......?

I wonder if Charles has a morbid fascination with back bottoms much the same as Pat has. ?

Anyway I also was interested in Charles when I was a skank backpacker and read a book called " The life and times of Charles Sobhraj " whilst traveling through India.

Even went to the restaurant in Goa where he used to hang out in.

There are 3 books I've read

The Life And Times Of Charles Sobhraj

    Serpentine

    The Bikini Murders

Don't bother with the latter it's fiction based on him that is just crap the further he tries to distance the story from the truth, ends up arms dealing in Iraq which just ain't so....

In hindsight i think the matching umbrella/shirt does add a wee bit of class to the ambience of the evening
