    Phobias

Do you have a phobia and if so what is it? Additionally, have you ever had one and managed to cure it?

I have a damn phobia of spiders which has been with me since childhood. I don't mind big beetles or any other bugs for that matter. Mind you, i don't like those dangerous centipedes, but they don't make me scream like a little girl.

I would love to go jungle trekking, but the fear of spiders prevents me. Looking at a photo makes the hairs stand up on my body! Just a moment ago i ran out of the kitchen shouting 'wtf' because one scuttled across my feet, much to the amusement of the old codgers playing cards. I know it seems real trivial but checking my bedroom before going to bed is getting a bit silly.

As anyone ever cured their phobia and if so, how? Spiders in particular.
You bullied, you laughed, you lied, you lost!

I think creepy crawlies like snakes and spiders are cool.

What does scare me is big animals like cows and horses.

I didn't use to like spiders much until I came to Thailand and discovered how 'orrible cockroaches are. They really give me the creeps.

Heights, i get dizzy looking at pictures from the top of towers, in fact at 6' 2" i sometimes get dizzy standing up.

Not heredity, as my father has spun around the outside of a few spires in his lifetime.

Thought i could overcome the fear if i did a couple of parachute jumps for charity back in the 80's but unfortunately it's still with me.

Heights and deep water are my phobias. I haven't really found a cure, just "man up" and deal with it.

Actually I got some burrowing spiders on my land, big buggers as the holes are pretty big, after the rainy season I shall be burning the old wood on top of them, after filling their little homes with petrol of course.

    Heights.

Tried to walk over the Bridge over the River Kwai and as soon as the ground disappeared and it was just water underneath me my arse went.

I have no shame in saying that I immediately turned round and walked straight back pushing a young girl out of the way in the process.

Snakes. I have a love hate affair with them. Love to watch shows on tv about them, but have a deep seated fear of them. When I was young, 10 yr old, my older brother would catch snakes and keep them at home. Once he chased me with a live rattle snake and one time he put a live garden snake in my bed while I was asleep.
