There are other commodities than just oil.
You really need some education, young man.
I always saw the notion that the Irak war was about oil a most aburd one.
Simply buying the oil from Saddam would have been so much easier and cheaper.
It is about control of supplies, of course
It was about stealing American taxpayers money and giving it to their friends.
You said MOST Muslim countries, Socal , " In MOST MUSLIM countries,"
Post 122BULLSHITAre you aware of the fact that you do not have the right to drive in most muslim countries ?
there is only one I know of .
More of the right's brand of misinformation.
And it is not an urban myth that Bin Laden family members were flown out on Sept 12
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bin_Laden_family
Shafig bin Laden (Arabic: شفيق بن لادن), half-brother of Osama's, was a guest of honour at the Carlyle Group's Washington conference at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on September 11, 2001, and among the 13 members of the bin Ladin family to leave the United States on September 19, 2001 aboard N521DB.
Richard A. Clarke - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Another point of attack for Clarke's critics was his role in allowing members of the bin Laden family to fly to Saudi Arabia on September 14, 2001. According to Clarke's statements to the 9/11 Commission, a member of the Bush Administration relayed to Clarke the request of the Saudi embassy to allow the members of the bin Laden family living in the U.S. to fly to Saudi Arabia. Clarke testified to the commission that he relayed this decision in turn to the FBI via Dale Watson, and that the FBI at length sent its approval of the flight to the Interagency Crisis Management Group.[25] However, FBI spokesman John Iannarelli denied that the FBI had a role in approving the flight: "I can say unequivocally that the FBI had no role in facilitating these flights."[26]

Your arguments are even more pathetic than JG's.

With all the car makers moving toward electric cars, oil may soon be worth very little.Originally Posted by Pol the Pot

I htink the oil-archs will fight that tooth and nail. Is electric working? But still takes energy to refuel... oil or coal ...
Until true sustainability is achieved,.. wind, tidal and solar..nothing will change
And yes there is the rare earth shortage China has been cutting back to Japan so yes Afghan will be very important.
At least admit that's the reason for attacking other countries instead of the " war on .." whatever.

^Read your last post. Do you have any idea what you said? Do you understand how stupid you sound? Do you know that you are really irritating? You never offer anything constructive, but your last post is even dumber than your norm.
Then ignore me if I'm so irritating.
Oh, the irony.Originally Posted by DavisKnowlton

What I will never understand is why feminists like you stick up for the very people that oppress and abuse their female population the most. Arabs. Why are you not out there condemning acid attacks, stoning s, canings, and genital mutilatrion and murder that arab women are put through every day ?
And flying away on september 14th was not hours after the attacks like you said it was. Also, Osama Binladen was exiled from Saudi arabia and he was also disowned by his family.
Nuclear power will solve everything, its just the hypocrite greenies dont like that idea either.
Again, there is no oil in Afganistan and the second gulf war was a continuation of the first gulf war. Was the first gulf war about oil ? Yeah, Saddam Hussain attacked Kuwait.
^ Socal you really are uneducated.
Afghanistan has " Rare Earth" lots of it apparently and it is established it is the reason we are invading it .
So millions s can buy the latest status gadgets.
Nuclear energy is dangerous as no one has figured out a really safe and cost effective way to dispose of waste. You do know that radioactive material lasts for thousands of years and tends to pollute surrounding areas and waters?
How does that solve everything ?
[quote=socal;1586207]No you were wrong then too

I'm very much against the political agenda against women by extremist factions. I merely refuse to count the millions of Islamic followers who are not politically motivated as my enemies.
I didn't say hours I said the Bin Laden family was flown out in "the days following."And flying away on september 14th was not hours after the attacks like you said it was. Also, Osama Binladen was exiled from Saudi arabia and he was also disowned by his family.
September 14 is within that time frame any reasonable person would agree. So why were they flown out when every single flight in the USA was grounded?
As you claimed it was an "urban myth," it's now apparent you haven't a clue as to what you are talking about.
Really Socal, I thought you knew how to argue your rabid-righty points, but I was mistaken.
The Bin Ladens family are big investors with defense investments groups like Carlyle, got to protect them like we guard their Embassy with Treasury Dept employees ( Secret Service )

Nuclear power cannot solve any problem. It is at best a convenient bridge energy aiding the switch from fossil to solar. A big maybe on possible fusion but we are talking about fission at present.Originally Posted by socal
