Canterbury father spared jail for hosing down son

A man has been given a 150-day suspended jail sentence for hosing down his eight-year-old son with cold water for using a drawer as a toilet.

The man, who is in his 30s and cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted an act of cruelty towards a child at Margate Magistrates Court.

A woman called police after witnessing the incident in Canterbury.

The boy's ordeal lasted for more than two hours as he was punished for urinating and defecating in the house.

Unbelievable, the father must be a fukcing retard, you can't beast little children in the same way young squaddies are beasted in basic training.
I hope the social services are keeping an eye on the cnut from now on.

Sounds like there's underlying problems at home if an 8 year old uses a drawer as a toilet... maybe he wasn't able to use the bathroom. Who knows with a father that reacts in such a cruel way.

    'Hosing down son'

You mean that the Father pissed over the son?

Eye for an eye kind of thing then. There's a certain justice there.

So now in the UK you can't use a hose to spray over your children as it can seem to be a criminal offence. When I was a kid no one would have battered an eyelid to this incident.

^why would you want to do that anyway?? Most parents bathe their kids in a bath/shower with hot/warm water if they need to be cleaned. It's obviously the context in which it was done. Different matter if you're having a laugh with your kids messin about with the hose, but the story suggests the opposite.
and he just stands there, waiting for me to drive my truck straight through him, with LIGHT coming out of his mouth!

^ May be so Holly, but it would put doubts in my mind. Getting back to me being a child. When me and my brother used to come home from play, we'd be so dirty that one of our parents would hose us off before being made to strip off to our skiddies. Seems you can't do that these days.
Death is natures way of telling you to slow down.

Even though I know exactly what you mean... it still just sounds wrong.... Like my mate (father of sweet 2 year old twin daughters) who, during a beer-fuelled discussion about kids with another mate who had just been told that his missus was expecting twins said "I don't really have a favourite one... they both have to compete for daddy's love..."

Cue short pause followed by puzzled expressions, then shock, horror, and several phonecalls to childline....

^ Come to think about it. My missus does it to my 2 youngest when they badly soil their nappies. I'll get her to stop.

^are you deliberately missing the context of this particular situation?

If your child defecated/urinated in a drawer in your house, would your response be to take him outside and hose him down? Like i said before, if a kid is doing something like that (at age 8) there's something else going on.

It's almost certain that the child has an affinity with Rotweilers and has 666 tattooed on his scalp.

^ What if the child just did it out of pure badness ? We have heard about the father, but we haven't heard about the child's behaviour history. We just take it that he's normal little Peter that never does wrong. Holly you have admit that, at times, kids drive you to the brink. Most on here seem to condemn the father and yet none of us know either player in this case.

This guy should be in the big house banged up with other child abusers.
Some people just aren't cut out to parent.
Agree with SDigit and hope the social services keep a close watch on the prick now.
