    Friendly Pharmacies

Endless insomnia means I need a regular supply of Valium Xanax, Tamazapam lorazapam etc etc. My miserly doctorsss will only give me 10 at once. Does anyone know of any liberaly minded pharamices in BKK (near Sai Dai/ Pin Klao or any BTS/MRT stop)

Also (not that ayyy farkin need them) where can you buy cheap small amounts of Viagra/Biagra etc etc??? About three years ago I asked in a Pharmacy near Prom Pong and the jocker offered me a box of ten for 3500 baht !!!

If you can help please provide detailed directions.

Diazepam 5mg is available legally over the counter at most pharmacies. Take 2 & it should settle you down.

Problem is that these are all addictive drugs in the long run & you are going to have to wean yourself off them - cold-turkey style. There is no other way.

Have a chat to your doctor & let them prescribe a later-generation non-addictive sleeping tablet. Not an easy habit to wean off...

How about thinking prevention instead of cure? Feck drugs to cure it. What do you think is causing it?

Fair point smeg: it is the fear of waking up at a set time. If I can get up when I like I have no problem sleeping. I just start getting paniced about the 7am deadline and it means if I wake up to do a pee pee at 2am i wont get back to sleep after that. AND ALL I AM WORRIED ABOUT IS THE FUCKING DEADLINE.

Is this just for work days? I got a little bit like that for stressy PGCE days when I knew my uni lecturer was coming to watch me teach for a day.

Have you got a stressy job or other daily worries?

The worst thing to do is to try to get back to sleep, or even think about anything. Sleep is one of the few things in life that you can do much more easily without trying or even thinking about it.

    1) I think your info is old D-man post war on drugs it has been very hit and miss on over counter sales.

    2) Yep they are a bit addictive but I never take them at weekend and never even think of them when I am on my two month long holidays a year

    3) I went to a Thai shrink at a well known hospital who prescribed me some fucking pre-med highly addictive knock-you-out-after-ten-minutes-for-two=hours-date-rape style drugs......... TIT!!!!! After that experience I am sticking to GPs wgo can't speak english and capitalist pharmacies.

I think this is the problem

    Endless insomnia.......
You've decided that you've got longterm insomnia and that you have to do something about it. This act in itself is actually causing the problem, in my opinion. You are dwelling on it, which is prolonging it. How to get around that? Maybe just stop thinking about it, and read for a few minutes if you wake up. Try studying a few pages of Thai from a coursebook, that'll soon send you to sleep....

I suffered from this all my life.

I never arrange early morning meetings or take buses or flights in the morning.
I can never sleep for fear of missing them.
I even transferred my job from days to nights at my request.

Benzo's are not the answer, they will mess you up in the end.

One more thing, regarding the "fixed time" thing. Wake up at the same time, 7 days per week, work or no work. I'm pretty sure that'd sort it, by making it the norm, and steadying your body clock.

Ok touchy feely stuff aside. Medicinal, infrequent use of these drugs is beneficial. Where to buy please??

Also Viagra? Just to say that I had done it! Tick it off the list of restricted medecines so to speak!

I've had my issues with the blues MD not nice to come off after a month long bender.

I would recommend some valarian tea instead.

Hey buster, if its "infrequent" use then you don't need to buy it by the truckful Ten minutes ago you were saying

    I need a regular supply
Don't dismiss the "touchy feely" stuff (although by branding it as that it sounds like you already have). I had exactly what you've got, around 10 years ago. It wasn't drugs that rid me of it.

I met a doctor once who told me that they were just a little bit addictive - bollox - Xanax is a killer as are all the benzodiazepines.

I can tell you from coming off a final tolerance of 100-200mg valium a day for 5 years that there is only one drug worse to come off and that is methadone. Heroin, coke, speed, crack, yaa ba are all much easier.

If you do need to take it they short acting ones are best. You will probably be ok if you take only one or two night a week, but be very careful - I know many people who started that way only to get fully hooked. I could tell you some real horror stories.

If you go to the doctor and tell him that you are an alcoholic - he'll give you a big supply.

10 years ago, I used to buy about 1 tub of 1000 pills 10mg a month at any chemist in Bangkok. Now there are still some - your original question - there is one I believe on Silon Road on the same side as central up a bit on the way to the Dusit Thani. The guy might say that he dosen't have them - if he does tell him that you bought them off him before.
The law has been changed a couple fio times - once in 97 and more recently in 2003.

The one at the bottom of the BTS NANA sold xanax 1 year ago. The one next to the italian restaurant.

OK so concerns noted with due dilligence. I am prepared to try snything to help me sleep but I do need something to work in the short term.

The first two months of the last school term were hell for me due to the fact that the no sleep monkey came 3 or 4 nights a week, and I am the type who is barely able to to tie up his shoelaces after 3hrs kip. I am willing to try anything to combat this fucker but to just to do nothing is a NO go

    So any good pharamcies?

I found that the major dependency with these insomnia problems is in your mind - rather than physical dependence.

I find that it often helps to do some physical exercise & make yourself naturally tired. An old trick is to not do mentally-taxing exercises after 8 pm in the evening & try doing something to relax your mind.

One of the main contributors to insomnia problems is usually an underlying emotional issue that has not been dealt with eg. guilt, anger... Get hese sorted out & you'll generally be on your way to a reasonable sleep pattern.

That's precisely why they are restricted... You go into rebound & depression - especially on those dosages.

When I first came to BKK I was running on 30-50mgs every evening (sometimes doubled up) just so I could get to sleep... for around 2 months... I nearly jumped off the balcony a few times... be careful out there...

The legal limit on Diazepam is 10mg... There is no restriction on the 5mg version. Almost every pharmacy would help you there, but, perhaps not if they were concerned about a dependency problem. Then they would tell you otherwise.

There was a prescription sleeping tablet - StilNox - some years ago which was supposed to be non-habit-forming. Not sure what you can get in Thailand.

Also, simple old-fashioned anti-hystamines will get you tired enough to sleep.

What legal limit? I was prescribed 20 mg 3xday once in the UK.
