The lead 'singer' writes travel books now or so I remember hearing on Radio 2.
Tony Hawks or something. Same name as that famous skateboarder who endorsed some Playstation games.

The first single I ever bought was about 23-25 years old, a real babe with pert little titties and an arse that wouldn't quit.
I wonder what she's doing now?

Not me, but got my Mom to buy it...the Sukiyaki Song by Sakamoto Ryu. She says I was crazy about it. I was reporting with Yomiuri Shimbun in Osaka when the Japan Airlines jumbo crashed in 1985 -- Sakamoto was on the flight.

had the luxury of a brother working in UK radio; used to send me packages (NZ) of demo singles from the radio station.
So I wasn't buying them; most memorable was one pack that contained God Save The Queen by the Sex Pistols and Exodus by Bob Marley.
I chose punk. But Bob's still the man:

I'm wrong. Sheb Wooley recorded Purple People Eater. Bikini was a different group.

I went to Woolies to buy "Say you don't mind" by Colin Blunstone, and came out with "Without you" by Nilsson.
For me, It's still one of the all time great love songs.
I bought Colin Blunstone's 45 the following week.

First vinyl album was Paul Simon's 1st solo LP, can't remember the title.

First CD was "So" by Peter Gabriel.
Do not walk beside me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me for I may not follow. Just pretty much leave me the fuck alone!
