    First single you ever bought

Just been reading the 'what mum threw out' thread and it got me thinking about my first ever single record I bought and if my mum still has it.

I got a 50pence Woolworths gift token for my 5th birthday and bought:

Long haired lover from liverpool byt Little Jimmy Osmond !

I think it was Coz I love you by Slade.

My elder twin sisters bought all the records as they owned the stereo and didn't let me near it.

Hard to argue with that; a classic first record.

I'd like to say that mine was the Animals; House of the Rising Sun (picturedisk), but I think that was actually my second or third, I vaguely remember some dodgt Lionel Ritchie number, but I hope I'm wrong...

I can't remember exactly, but I think it was California Girls by The Beach Boys...or Twist and Shout by The Beatles.

The first single I had was Walk Don't Run by The Ventures, it was given to me by a neighbor.

The first album is easy. The Beatles Second Album (I know US only) It was around $2.50 and mono. I could have bought the stereo version for $4.00.

Mine was "Living Doll" by The Young Ones and Cliff Richard (or was it the other way around?)
79p down Wollies. Great "B-Side" if I remember correctly.
Can anyone remember their first CD aswell?
Mine was "Dizzy" by Vic Reeves and the Wonderstuff.

I joined a club, so it was about 15-20 of them that came in at once, half were replacements.
