You call that an explosion . . .
Point made, I believe
I was at that tanker fire in Maddington. You will noticed it exploded back towards the service station , if it had blown the other towards the firefighters we would of lost men that day.
Petrol tankers are equipped with relief valves to allow boiling liquid to vent but in extreme cases of rapid heat rise they cant vent quick enough resulting in what you see in the video.
Extremely serious situation to be involved in.
Terry, as a firefighter, and I respect you for that. Let me ask you a question.
Could an explosion of fuel, as in petrol, or a petrol bomb, knock a man of his feet.
By this I mean, a bomb, a fireball and the explosion.
I asked my brother, who did 12 years with the London Fire Brigade and 7 years with the Sydney brigade and he reckoned, yes.
If temperatures were high enough the oxygen / petroleum vapor would create such a situation.
