Thread: Buying into software companies 20 years ago

Now if you could go back in time would you buy into software companies in 1986? Seems like a good deal don't it, well it aint believe me if you bought the shares I did.
1986 I bought into Alphanumeric, I mean I realised even in them days that computers was going to be the big thing, just didn't know how long it would take, at the time they were 2 and a half pence each, with the share splits and all the other stuff they did, yep they must be the only company making software that hasn't gone up on the stockmarket in the last 20 years.
Yet a friend of mine about 10 years ago bought into a company that was destined to be bought out by google, his share value went upto 6 foking million dollars, but then it plummeted and he pulled out making about 3 million dollars profit.
How the fok can I be the only person 20 years ago to buy into a software company that and not make any money out of it? Poxy Shares....
