She is a little darling, the sculptor picked a great model and style, probably Cambodian from the look of her. She was not Thai, but Mon, found mostly in Burma these days.

Mango on the trees at Villa SEA Traveler ready to be picked.

^small tree ?
correct but actually, there are two small trees together together. They only stand 2 meters tall. I planted them about 4 years ago. I was told that they were miniature mango trees. I don't know about that but I do keep these and the other mango trees trimmed way back and short. I don't car to be sweeping up the fallen leave very much. Maybe in a few years I'll let them go for a while. In the time being, they are yielding some fruit. Not a lot of fruit but enough to appreciate having the trees.
We were invited yesterday to a reception by the Philippine Embassy on the occasion of their independence day celebrations. We got that invitation because the young daughter of the amabassador once danced with my wifes dance group befor the mother became ambassador and because the emassy somtimes invites the dance group to perform.
I didn't want to carry my DSLR, so the photos are with a simple Casio Exilim.
The ambassadors speech. She looks quite small and fragile but she isn't fragile.

I had two chance encounters during the reception.
First with some San Miguel Beer, I like that beer because it is quite tasty but not too strong.

There was a crew from ABS CBN, the Filippines TV Channel. The cameraman and the lady in black dress. She was the second chance encounter and she is a sure sign I am getting old. When she was young she lived for a while in Berlin, and I sometimes carried her on my arm when she was tired. And now she has children of her own and is pregnant again.

She is also a singer and sometimes performs professionally on stage.
Interesting San Mig in the PP ,, is it brewed there or just bottled from some San Mig syrup + the local aqua ?
San Miguel Beer is a big local brand in the Philippines and they produce their own beer. I have never heard about beer concentrate.:) Beer is not Coca Cola.
The name is the only thing it has in common with the spanish brand as far as I know.
Freshly brewed and bottled Ale from my last brew.

Nice one Tell ^
Tkovers years ago I used to pull trailers of heiniken beer concentrate which used to come in at Harwich docks ,, now in the tanker this was like a flat guey concentrate ,, I am guessing at about 10% of this stuff then got mixed with about 90% of the water that was added in the brewery / factory in Northampton where I delivered it to.
To get it out the tanker they used to pressurise it with some form of gas and blow it out.
When I used to park up back in our yard at night we had an Alsation guard dog and he used to love me to open up the valve on the empty tank as it would blow the remainder left in the tank over the yard , where upon he would sup his night cap before falling asleep :)
When I was a kid in the U.K. and it was too cold to go out much I used to pass the time making dioramas . Found an old one up in the loft recently. Gotta be about 45 years old now.

My old man is still finding dismembered toy soldiers in the garden 20 years after I last played with them.
