Why not look at it in another way?

"Why are so many Paedophiles British Politicians" - which is the lesser evil?

I don't have an answer, but both of these ambitions seem to be linked!

Power and control....with a nice slice of sadomasochistic personality disorder thrown in, or in some cases full on sociopathic tendencies.

One of the themes of pedophile behaviour is that it is about an imbalance of power/control.

The rest should be fairly obvious to work out.
