    Snakes and Motorbikes

Well today I had to visit a few places and thought I better check my land was still there, also to take some pictures of it and try to sell the small plot, so off I go on the little motorbike, have a wander round the land, look at the sad state of my "orchard", get back home and then my galfriend phones me up quite hysterical asking me what I had done to the motorbike, so off I go downstairs to see what the fok she is going on about, turns out their is a foking snake sticking his head out from under the seat, mr snaky gets bored with looking at us and decides to hide in the body panels of the bike, hmmmmm, how to get the foking snake out?

At first I thought about pushing it round to the motorbike repair shop and getting him to change all the body panels, the body panels being changed has been on my mind for about a year now and also the snake would then be his problem.

My son came up with a less strenuous way, and off he went indoors and got a can of bug killer, so there I am spraying little bits of bug killer into the bike panels, people were walking past, some stopped to watch the crazy farang killing the bugs in a motorbike, but then mr snakey done a runner, people started doing a runner, mr snakey is still on the loose downstairs, the neighbours daughter is still screaming, my bike has no bugs or snakes in it anymore.

Was this a poisonous snake, or why all the hysteria?
Seems there is a lot of irrational fear of these creatures about.

Are you sure that it is your bike and not the snake's? It's damn easy to get on the wrong bike. The snake may have just popped out to 7-11 to get some bubble-gum and the next think he knows, he's been snake-napped and is having bug spray aimed at him....He'll get home tonight and say to the missus, 'You won't believe what happened to me today'.

Jomtien beach road is not the place for snakes, and I have to admit I didn't let mr snakey bite me to find out if it was poisonous or not.

They do advise you to catch teh snake once it has bitten you, so the hospital knows what serum to give you.

I'd reckon it'd be better to catch it first then let it bite you, then you can all happily go to the hospital together.

back in aus. had a red belly black snake take up residence in the boot of my car. unbeknownst to me. not only took up residence, but had babies as well. can still remember thinking that the car smelled like the reptile house at the zoo. the plug in the spare tyre well had come out, and i think the snake went up ino the boot and found the perfect home. still shit myself when i think about my daughter sitting in the back, with a snake, poisonous, sitting just behind her. only found out when i putt the car in for a detail. big eyes and abuse when i went to pick the car up. they showed me all the bodies and the nest in the wheel well. had some pretty wild experiences with snakes back in aus. not in the cities of course. too many kangaroos jumpin down george st. to have any snakes there.
had a cobra check out the house up here in the sticks. 5 ft long and quite an impressive fella, that is until my screa.....loud voice bought the security guard from the front of the village. one hit to the head, and into the basket on the front of his pushbike. when i enquired the next day, he told me it was delicious

About a year and a half ago, I was surfing the net atabout 1 a.m. when I heard crackling sounds coming from outside. I opened the door to have a look outside and saw the sky was glowing a bright orange.

I hopped on the m'cycle and went to see what was going up in flames behind the village. On one of the back roads I found out it was a field and heavy brush burning but it was huge and fast approaching one of those 2 floor, long appartment buildings.

There were people standing on the front porch with a few buckets, a lady with a dog in her arms. I decided to take a closer look and offer help if needed. I was in the middle of the sand parking lot for a few minutes, it was lit by the fire only. I saw something moving on the sand. A snake! I looked around, SNAKES fleeing from the fire! EVERYWHERE !!! Most were kind of standing up with their heads up in the air. Many green ones and a few darker ones.

Panic hit me. I was surrounded... I hopped back on the motorcycle, turned around and got the **** out of there. I was still in the driveway when I felt something on my leg, looked down... SNAKE!!! The ###### thing wrappd itself around my leg and proceeded to climb up towards the handlebars. I jumped off the motorcycle and ran beside it and the snake fell off.

Now I know why the lady was holding the dog in her arms...

Snake doesn't have a lot of taste to it, you gotta add lots of spices . I found it a pain in the ass to eat, all them little bones, chewing, spitting. No, not really my taste.

Prefer a good ol' chesse burger.

You may be right, I have yet to try snake without spices, souces, etc. Actually that goes for pork, beef and chicken, too.

If the snake is properly prepared, there should be no bones. A bit like fish, I guess, the smaller the snake, the more difficult to remove the bones.

This coming from a guy that comes from a place with no snakes (England), do wonder how you would react with snakes all around you at night.

I would have known that the snakes and all kinds of other critters would have been running from the fire but then anything would. You have to know what is in your area and know how to deal with it. Thankfully I haven't met up with a snake that I couldn't deal with but I have heard and seen news reports of 5 meter cobras that would make me think twice about catching them. With the right tools, it shouldn't present too much of a problem, but then, I can't run as fast as I used to.

They're lizards though. I used to have a pet one. I used to have a pet Royal Python too. Probably the most boring pet on the planet.
