No, But there is a HUTCH, but their signal is hit and miss I heard, mostly down south I think.Originally Posted by Boon Mee
I'm in northern Suphanburi and heard of it's called HATCH but what do I know. The fee is supposed to be 1K baht per month or some such. Just curious if anyone knows if there's any competition with these folks and who's the best to go with. Going to need a cell phone that can work overseas too so I'm just starting the 'homework' process on this subject.
Thanks in advance for any good advice!![]()
A Deplorable Bitter Clinger
I use AIS and put in 500 at a time, good as far as I am concerned.
Hell Google HUTCH Cell and see what ya got, thats how I found em.
But for an O'seas phone I use Skype or another phone dialer I have had for years, skype charges me $5.95 a month for calls to USA and canada with 10K minutes and I have a nunber in calif that rings into my PC.
There is all kinds of new things since you was a kid ya old bastard.
Hutch is just used in central Thailand. From Bkk to Nakhon Sawan going North, out to Saraburi going East, not too sure how far they go west. This was just an internet connection by the way and it was OK ish kept me logged on for longer than this AIS bluetooth cack.
and yes 999bt month plus tax (about 70bt).
Then you'll want a GSM handset and not a CDMA handset which Hutch is.Originally Posted by Boon Mee

Thanks fellas - should have titled this thread cell phone / Internet providers as I won't have a land-line straight-away and will need to use the cell for internet access. Heard the speeds are OK.
With Hutch you get a wireless thing that you either put in the USB or a card you put somewhere in the com, although I'm sure there will be a bluetooth connection with it if u wanna use your phone, maybe that'll be quicker.Originally Posted by Boon Mee
Where I am now, I'm using my phone, AIS and my laptop all via bluetooth. I reckon its a tad quicker than HUTCH but alot more tempremental, tends to sign me out every now and then wherest with Hutch that would never happen.
But as an example of speed difference, I was able to have a good webcam chat with my mum today; on Hutch it was impossible.
