Don't feel bad about not knowing. Never heard of such a thing in the US. Until I started hanging around with a bad bunch (Brits) I never heard of it either.Originally Posted by Boon Mee
Seems the Brits love to have quizzes while they sit around their local bar. Of course rules and the questions are needed hence the Quiz Master. All taken quite seriously.

i'd say more than half the participants at the irish bar quiz are American.Originally Posted by Norton

think the winning team was a combo of nationalities.
that's the tricky thing with writing these quizzez.
there's a lot of nationalities and ages.
you can't do UK centric rounds.
if you ask a cricket question in a sports round, you have to write a basketball question too.
it's not as easy as you'd think, because of the range of ages and nationalities.
for every question i choose, i bet i look at 10 other bits of trivia before dismissing.
CMN doing the quiz at the Irish, next thing he'll be playing golf again.
I must admit I went in last night to the Irish but walked out when I heard they didn't have the cricket on in order to show a Chelski repeat. Sorry I didn't stop longer as I haven't seen CMN in over a year I guess or at least since I installed Ubuntu on his Computer.

saw Nick, that was nice.
he told me a few jokes that i didn't laugh at.
catch it while it lasts.
it's a short term gig and i'm bound to fukk up royally on a regular basis.
^ I'll make an effort to try and get there next Thursday.
PS Caddy height wager is still available.
i'm back as quizmeister in the UN Irish bar
GOOD.
I formally (when I lived in Bangkok) attended many quiz nights and the best format was when they split the nights up regarding quiz topics.
One week they had music/ musical artists quizes, then sports, then general history etc etc. There was always a good turnout and you could basically pick your night according to quiz topic.
Running pictures and video highlights was also popular and the winner/ winners always received a decent prize from behind the bar!
Again good luck with it Noony.
did it for years til it got too much like work.Originally Posted by Loy Toy
it's short term though and i'll enjoy it before i go all hermit again.
was worried about a panic attack last night.
been a while since i've talked to people.
Understand completely. We have a small group here in Roiet who do the quizzes for a local charity. A real mix of nationalities. Brits, Aussies, Americans, Scandinavians, Swiss and Germans. I have a few of the quizzes we use.Originally Posted by ChiangMai noon
