I thought E.T was the best movie ever made and always would be. Later I realised what a stupid piece of plotless, sentimental, crappy, piece of rubbish it was.

I watched too many Nightmare on Elm street movies
Often thought he might visit me in my sleep, turned out he did in a couple of nightmares I had, never killed me though - pussy
I thought the Robinson's in "Lost In Space" were a real family and somehow thought if they ever made it back down to Earth they would land on Gilligan's Island.
Oh and I used to lay in bed at night and think about doing exactly what I am doing at this moment of my life (from a very young age).
Had a disturbing crush on Frank Zappa...
I wanted to be a Charlie's Angel. Or Wonder Woman. Or even Catwoman out of the old Batman series. I was obviously more interested in the glamour than the morality aspect.
I was also scared of jin-joks (chit-chats in HK, where I lived) and wondered frequently why you couldn't send requests for money owed through the mail ('Post no bills' was written on nearly every wall.)
I've never admitted this one before, but time to come clean!
18 years old, my first offshore (floating ) drilling rig situated in the middle of the North Sea, stood on the deck and being no dummy immediately noticed the horizon was going up and down!!!
Remember standing there thinking why the hell nobody had told me this happened - had absolutely no idea that it was the Vessel that was moving,
Think it took me about 2 years to finally figure things out, but then - I've always been kinda smart!![]()
I think I wanted to be a astronaut or a cowboy.
Something like that. A rock star, a race car driver.
Sumthin' like that.![]()
Might as well be on the legend himself! All time favourite . . .Originally Posted by Rural Surin

Wouldn't worry about that. When I was living in HK as a kid, my Nan (Dad's Mum) & her hubby came out to visit. My parents took them to the Furama Hotel's revolving restaurant. Over the course of the evening, my Dad managed to convince my Nan that the restaurant was staying still & the skyline revolving![]()
^brilliant!
As a small child, I liked Asians. Really.
Santa Clauss was real
Ho Chi Minh was my hero
^ read the book
he was an admirable fellow
I thought brussel sprouts were solidified farts.
They tasted the same as farts smelled.
Used to lie in bed reading tales of adventure ( all in Boys Own Magazine ), far off places, brave redcoats beating off foreign dusky soldiers, exploring up the Amazon or down the Nile, Fuzzy Wuzzy attacks in Sudan , Ju Ju men in central Africa, Opium wars, the mysteries of the East , headhunters in Borneo etc etc etc .
Never thought I would go to all these places !
Only got one GCE at school - Geography - just as well - never got lost !![]()
