I take it that you use your mobile phone for internet access because you live in an area without ADSL or phone lines? Have you looked into a satellite service such as IPSTAR from CS Loxinfo for example? If you are a heavy Internet user then neither are suitable for you.

Yes you are correct, it's the only access around here.
Actually, it is generally better/faster than the dial up service my mate has in the next town.

Another friend got the satellite link, sadly, either it was not up to the job, or the buffons that installed it could not set it up correctly - I think he was paying 1500 per month for a dish in the garden and some flashing LEDs in a little box next to his com, sadly, it didn't seem to do anything else, like connect to the internet, anyway he had enough, they were out a few times to try and get it going, but it seems all it was was a dish with some flashing LEDs, anyway, they eventually took it away after he stopped paying!

I am not sure what the problem is with my connection, but of all the sites, I only ever get the problem with TD, usually eary evening, but like I said, last night was fine...so who knows.
