It would get my vote instead of the flaccid version we have now

A big improvement. Upbeat, inspires enthusiasm. Could change the words a bit though. Slip in a few stanzas of "rockets red glare" and "bombs bursting in air" and you Aussies would have it just about right!Originally Posted by panama hat

All I can say is thank fuck they don't have LM laws in OZ !!

PS Can anyone out there do a upmarket version of "God save Mrs Betty Windsor"?
( housewife from London)![]()
I think we as PROUD Aussies can stand as one and wave our index finger and grab our collective crotches and say fuck off the lot of you ( including those with blessed Australian Passport holders who originally decided to migrate from Scotland and the shithole) and celebrate the fact that it does not piss down raining 340 days of the year and the cost of living is a fraction of what the pale skinned want-a-bee Australians have to pay.
Advance Australian fair and leave those sorry UK twats to try and convince us differently with their 800 year bravado and history of raping and pillaging, typically english boring humour and with their head up their fucking arse.

^ Ahem . . . had a tough day, LT?![]()
A bit indifferent to this. As myself and most Aussies can't get past the second verse it still sends a chill up my spine when i hear it.
Anyhow it was an amusing skit.
my 6 year old australian grandsons proud versionof the national anthem that he picked up ischol,
Australians all have Ostriches.
Because I got to pee,
With footy beer and vegemite,
and mums got snags for tea.
Poor little bugger was broken hearted when we all curled up laughing, its not a bad version though![]()
It's a great improvement. Bledisloe cup match ceremonies always start off a bit dire with two of the most boringly slow and uninspiring anthems in the world. It's no wonder they have Hakas and that swagman song to crank things up a bit.
I wonder if someone could put the NZ anthem to tune of Bliss?
