Why, honestly, do many of you dislike SMEG?

Is it because he hits a few nerves with his posts and ramblings?

Is it because he is more outspoken than many would expect someone to be?

Does the word ''Thai-o-phile'' make you angry or upset?

What if Smeg were unleashed over at Thai visa dot com? How long do you think he'd last if they (the mods over at that site/forum) allowed him tyo ply his trade?

Lastly, would you let Smeg into your premises to teach your family or staff english?

I for one have nothing against him and respect and or at the very least consider his opinions either way. I may not agree with everything he writes but I don't discount them without some thought.

As I have always said everyone here has had different life experiences and from those experiences they develop their opinions.

I think he`s quite spot on with some of his observations, and quite amusing to boot. Although i do think he dwells on the negatives too much.

I guess because he's quite accurate pointing out the faults with Thailand and its people, but, totally blind when it comes to the myriad faults of western counties.
Also, his obvious distain for those of us that think the benefits outweigh the problems living in Thailand.

Smeg mystifies me, he's one of those very few posters I can not imagine in real life, I have no idea how old he is neither do I have an idea what he looks like. I doubt he's an idiot, he's observant and thoughtful and bitter about the way things are, I'm sure he loved the country once. I have nothing against him or DJ Pat, they post whatever they want and both can be entertaining. Both posters have never responded to one of my posts in a negative or abusive way, in fact they ignore me completely.

When I met you in real life you were pretty much exactly as expected. When I met Smeg he was not.

I dont dislike anybody on Teakdoor, I may disagree with folks and argue or whatever but this shit isnt real life.
Web forums for me are just a place to vent shit that I dont want to find myself burndening those around me in real life with.
Smeg just likes to drop by every now and then and smear shit on the walls and see who complains about the smell. If you rise to it, you have lost the battle.
If everybody on here just sat around kissing ass like on TV I would not come here, you need a full spectrum of opinions, including those from Smeggy.
