    A 'falang' website

Not really certain where to put this, so I thought I would throw it out to the lounge area with the rest of you TD expats and see what the hook draws in.

The wife and and I have a condo that she orginally bought. Ain't much, but it is where we got our start many years ago. Basically, it is a studio living space that we updated. After a year or two, we moved out and started our adventure.

Since it is empty we decided to either rent or sale the damn thing. The wife found the following website.

Bangkok Condos, Condo for Sale & Rent Thailand, BangkokCondos.com

She sent an email and money.

**I have transferred the money 3,000baht to your account today. Please advertise my condo on your website.

    Dear David,

    My condo details:

    Condo for Sale/Rent
This 34 sq.meter condo has a kitchen, an enclosed terrace overlooking Bangkok, wardrobe, AC, ceiling fan plus much more!
Address: 215/175 Plam Condo 7th Floor, Sukhumvit Soi 66/1, Bangna Bangkok. Only 600 meter from Sukhumvit Road Nearly by BTS Udom Sook Station (maybe finish by next year)

    Rent 4,500 baht per month
    Sale 650,000 baht

Pls. advertise in Thai and English.**

Sounds good thus far. But then... no reply. I have personally emailed him 2 times and have had no reply.

B3,000 is really minute. However, it is the principle of the matter.

The old boy took the deposit but has not responded in kind. Now, what would you do? If any of the TD members know this gentleman, suggest to him that it might be in his best interest to reply.

hillbilly does have a big stick...

The dude has a less than sterling name in the Bangna area..... apparently charges way over the owners price and pockets the difference WITHOUT any notice to the seller.

Just sold a bare bones to a couple here. Were they pissed or what that the identical condo goes for 30% less?!

Thai Pom, look at the website it is the same guy.

Back up again now, wonder if this is a new addition.
EMAIL / CONTACT US (note: NEW 2009 Email address)
The funny thing is they don't show an email addy any where and its just a contact form, so why announce an email change when senders wont know the route anyway.

I have had dealings with this guy on a business level.

He is a bit odd to say the least and seems to be a bit of a control freak, he also sent us an email recently regarding some investment opportunity GUARANTEEING wonderful returns.

An associate of mine also inquired about a rental property once. After deciding on a property through a different agency he apparently become very pushy and even quite aggressive.

    In short........ STAY CLEAR.

Here is the "Investment" Email that we received from him:

    Dear xxxxx:

I have written a couple of times now and I still do not have any information or a web site to go to.

(snip) I am also interested in finding out who within your organization I might speak with about offering a program for investment that is both Insured against loss as well as having Guaranteed return results. We offer returns on a 2-year investment from 18.85%-23%, 6-year investment from 150%-250% and a 10-year investment from 650%-950%. This is one of the worlds best investments. It has out performed the stock market, T-Bills, Bonds and Real Estate for the past 45 years. Go to your stock broker and ask if he will insure your Initial investment against loss and see what he says!

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

I would doubt it very very much.

The thing with this guy is that he is offering very high guaranteed returns and ZERO risk. It just doesn't happen and if he was in a regulated market then he would be pulled up instantly by the authorities for doing so.

My missus's one room apartment still gets hits every few months from Mr Roomfinder. Put it on there 6 years ago and forgot to take it off and now don't know how to.

Still get regular emails from people asking to rent it.

Even an old mate found it, sent and email not realising it was me.

    Here is the latest.

David the owner of Bangkok Condos, Condo for Sale & Rent Thailand, BangkokCondos.com has not replied to my repeated emails. Now this has upset me.

I see only two possible reasons for this. One, either David or his immediate family has had a sudden serious illness or injury; or he has taken the money and run. Hopefully, David and his family are in good health.

However, if David has abscounded with my 3000 baht, here is my offering.

Hillybilly will offer 2 nights and 3 days free at D&G Resort to anyone for bringing this crook in.

David, I am not a newbie in Thailand.

    His number from the website.

For more information or to arrange an appointment to view a condo, please call one of the following contact numbers during normal business hours.

I just now got off the phone with David. Seems he has recieved our payment, but he also recieves about 30-40 emails per day and perhaps it got lost.

When I asked him about the payment, he replied please send everything again and he will check it out. He then said that he had just recieved my email only 7 minutes ago.

I said I was tired of fucking around. But not so politely.

When, I mentioned that I had posted my views on Teakdoor.com, he went, will nuts...
