Even Smeg would be proud that diatribe.

I think he has been very good in a few movies but he is obviously letting the pressure get to him and getting very much to big for his shoes, sad really, he is the one needing an "ass kicking" knocking him back down to earth where you behave decently to people you work with.

He's a pretty dedicated actor and I could see how his extreme work ethic would drive him to rant like this, still sounds like a twat though.

The first pic is from "The Machinist" (aka El Maquinista), which he cut 60 lbs. for.

It didn't get an oscar, but got quite a few other awards and nominations.

Batman Begins is up for quite a few oscars this year.

LOS ANGELES - By now, many have heard Christian Bale’s expletive-laden explosion at a director of photography on the set of “Terminator: Salvation,” thanks to an audio recording that was leaked to the Internet. But according to Ain’t It Cool News, there’s more to the story.

“The DP on ‘Terminator: Salvation,’ Shane Hurlbut, is apparently a light tweaker,” Ain’t It Cool editor-in-chief Harry Knowles reported on Tuesday. “He’s a fairly young DP and likes to fiddle with his lights on set during action, which is a big no no on most productions. But apparently Shane is a pretty unrepentant light tweaker.”

Not only that, but Bale was in the middle of filming a scene that laid down “the emotional center of the film and his character” with Bryce Dallas Howard when Hurlbut’s interruption came.

“The scene in question was a very emotional and tough scene,” Knowles wrote. “A scene that required ... a deep level of immersive concentration.”

Perfectly justifiable in my opinion. Why the fuck was the Director pissing around with the lights whilst they were in the middle of filming a scene?!

I thought the set, camera's etc... are prepared, then a scene is filmed.

It's like me being in the middle of a serious busines meeting and some Nong keeps popping in and dusting the tables, cleaning, generally dicking about. Only difference is the Nong here in Thailand knows no better. A professionally trained Director/Producer in the US on a professional film set should know fucking better.

I would have thought a simple Excuse me, would you mind not doing that? would have done the trick.

True, but Bale had warned this DP previously, not to do that. Adusting lights during a scene is a "no-no."
