Thread: How did you get where you are today?

I didn't get where I am today by posting threads like this on internet forums, but my question is this.....

Did you get where you are today by hard work, or were you just meandering along lifes path, or was it all luck?

You must be fairly succesful, after all you are still alive, you have a computer and you managed to get a passport. So what do you put it down to?

I got to where I am today in my nice new vigo.

KI have just stumbled and bumbled along. Isn't that really what most people do? You can have equal measures of good and bad luck, but we all end up somewhere with lots of rich experiences behind us.

I got to where I am today on the roller coaster "breakthroughs and blunders" ride of life!

Im in the "blunders valley" at the moment but that chain is pulling my car ever so slowly up to what I hope will be the high point of my life!

Kept my head down when it should be and looked up when I should have, learned a lot thru reading and doing, natural at some stuff and was able to learn.
Got the things busted that I could live thru and didn't get the ones busted that would have killed me.
Never was a place I wanted to go or a thing that I wanted to do that hasn't been done, just lucky enough to have lived to have done it and still have some years left, but have no new desires, so without those desires I guess I can die at anytime a happy man and feel sorry for those that still have wishes but not the balls to fulfill them.

This is strange to see this thread as my wife and I were talking about these things at dinner tonite, and she has a hard time understanding that I am not worried about death, as I told her I have done everything I ever wanted to do, when I was young and got to someplace it was not always steak and spuds either, she almost had tears in her eyes when I told her that sometimes in my wandering I had 2 , 3 or more days sometimes with nothing to eat and that is why I buy stuff for the kids lunch programs when ever I hear that they are short, I have been in jails in some places and hungry in others and shot at in some and loved in others, But I have lived a perfect life and I do not regret a moment of it so far, now if my death can be as perfect as my life I will even be smiling out of my ash ern.

Yes I had that too. Do they have to be together though I wonder?

I have gotten where I am today because I have gotten right back up every time life knocked me down.
