Thread: WTF Was The Name Of This TV Series?

I have been trying to remember the name of a British TV series for a number of weeks now and just can't come up with the name.

I think it was set in Manchester around the early 90's, about a few lads who went to school together and now trying to make there way in life, lot's of drugs and sex were involved, a bit of violence too.

One of the main characters was a builder, another was working for British Telecom or British Gas I think, another may have been a postie but this is a long shot, soundtrack to the series was a mix of Happy Modays, Stone Roses etc, all the usual Madchester shit.

Any ideas?

I think in the end one of the lads (works for BT or BG) leaves to go back packing in OZ and his mate the builder (who has been having an affair with his bird) stays with her.

If it was set in Manc, I'll know it, but your description doesn't ring any bells.

I'm almost 100 percent sure it was set in Manch, it would have been mid to late 90's.

By the way, this is set well after they have left school, they would be mid to late 20's.

Burn It was a drama series, with touches of dark comedy, following the lives of three twenty-somethings in present-day Manchester.

The series followed Carl, Andy and Jon as three self-proclaimed Generation X-ers going through life without any real responsibilities to worry them. However, whilst this was understandable in the Madchester era of the late 1980s, is it acceptable now as they approach thirty? When does the party end?

To a soundtrack of North West England bands and musicians, including New Order, The Stone Roses and The Charlatans to name but a few, the show displayed a lazy world of drinking, drug consumption, and casual sex. However, the show was careful to show the consequences of such lifetsyle choices and searingly touched on suicide, unwanted pregnancies, apathy and disillusionment.

According to Red Production Company a DVD release of Burn It is not possible, due to the impossibility of obtaining musical clearance of the soundtrack.

Not wanting to pigeon hole myself or become 'cliqued', I am fairly adept where computers are concerned (notice how I avoided using the CG term - dead clever that! ). And I couldn't come up with anything, didn't spend too much time looking though as I am 'working' *ahem*.

I reckon its because my ratio was bad. I downloaded 3 series of Trigger Happy TV and then kept it active so I could seed it but no bugger wanted it back off me!

That is my problem with the box. Before Xmas they had a "free download anything you want" promo. I started downloading stuff but it went against my ratio (free for a day not the actual whole download) and no one wants the stuff I downloaded.
