Thread: The end of the elite?

I am a Thailand elite member and I was informed today by Thailand elite company that the renewal of Thailand elite 5 year Special Entry Visa has been suspended.

I remember this when it all started up and the idea of this elite card for a million a year with all those lovely fringe benefits.

Quite amusing that people genuinely thought that they could actually get some sort of special privileges with this.

Strange, but I heard the programme being advertised on 88FM the other day. First time in years...

^ to sell something for 1 million baht which went up to 1.5million baht.

and not provide is pretty low.

The error returned was:

I am a Thailand elite member and I was informed today by Thailand elite company that the renewal of Thailand elite 5 year Special Entry Visa has been suspended.

The Thailand elite program was marketed as a government backed program that gives its members indefinite visa privileges in a form of a special visa entry that is renewable every 5 years. As a result of this extraordinary privilege many members has bought in to this program for 1 million baht. Apparently today the renewal of visa privilege has been suspended!


There has been a lot of negative comments in the past towards this program coming mainly from expats that live in Thailand and are not members of this program. Apparently those fears about the government not continuing to respect this program are coming to be true!


My personal opinion is that this situation will kill the programs reputation completely regardless the outcome of the expected cabinet vote about Thailand elite visa privilege approval.


As for today there are about 2500 members in the program. I am just wondering what will be the consequences of this move by thai government after not respecting a program it has self established, generating significant profits of this scam and insulting influential wealthy people from many nation around the world? What does this say about the country? What does this say about the people of this country? What does this say about doing business in this country?

foxit pdf reader is a better option , much smaller and quicker and not affected by pdf exploits

There still is a version of it going, don't have the web-address at hand.

There are Platinum, Gold, Silver and ruby cards offering different privileges, such as visa "facilitation" and discounts in golf clubs.
All cost a lot less then the original.

They don't reply to e-mail inquiries.

I think you'll find that it's not the same deal Stroll: this one is a private company...t'other is govt...

Call their service center a pull a jerky boyz on them for a bit of fun.

I don't know, this is gov approved and supported and it all sounds very similar, well it did when I read the website half a year ago, including guaranteed visas for Platinum and Gold cards, but now the latest version focuses on promoting services rather than advertising the cards.

Are you sure the original was a gov agency, not a gov accredited Thaksin corporation? "Thailand Elite Company" sounds like a private enterprise to me.

I just called the call center and they said this government does not have to honor what the past government set up. From their lips not mine. Oh and no refunds either.

I recall reading that they only had a few thousand, but they had budgeted for a million.

So they dropped the price a (600,000 abht) to attract more people. and it didnt much work either.
