No I ain't joking.

When I was in hospital having Surgery a few days before Christmas I sent them an email because my visa was expiring the day I was going under the knife.

Someone from the embassy called me back that afternoon to see how they could help. As it worked out only a hour after I sent them the email my wife met someone in the hospital who knew someone high up at the immigration department in Ubon (where I was ) so she took my passport and came back a few hours later with a 90 day extension to my 30 day on arrival tourist stamp. Cost was 1,900 baht to the immi dept and we gave her 1,000 baht for her time.

So anyway, when the embassy called I told the lovely lady it have all be sorted but thanks anyway. We had a great chat for a while (i was on morphine) and that was that. Today I just got an email from her following up on my progress which I thought was really nice.
