Taking over Government House and sitting there for months didn't get enough attention... They've now found a place to squat where they are getting attention and are not likely to give it up until forced to... This will go on until Somchai sends in the Police as it appears the General is apathetic or under orders from Graceland to stay neutral...

Yes, Samui will be affected by this with a loss of quality tourists that want to fly there. The full moon party wont suffer but the vast majority of the stinking hairy hedge-monkey dooshbag gippo types that attend will be going in the 3rd class train / cheap ferry anyway.

What they seem to "want" is the removal of any semblance of democracy and a return to the good old days of aristocratic rule. To this end, the PAD gives no thought to what the consequence to Thailand will be either economically or politically when they act.

That's all good if you're on the right side (30%) of the equation.

The rest should just mind their fields. My wife and I had this conversation a few days ago. How many peasants does each hi-so require? If the dirt-farmers become educated and ambitious, it's a real threat to the hi-sos who largely bought their sheepskins and have risen to the top based on daddy's connections or mommy's money. The real difference between them is negligible, really. So status is the only thing that keeps them apart.

If the ratio gets too lean, the quality of hi-so ishness is diminished. What is the lowest acceptable ratio?

    Eight peasants per hi-so?

I doubt very much PAD or its protector are losing too much sleep over how badly this is evolving for the country. Some people are comfortably isolated from the dire consequences of their meddling.

Btw is it me or has anyone else also noticed a higher royal profile on the box over the past days?
