not an attempt to hijack here but I saw an artist the other day on some channel that painted backwards in a pan of water with oil floating on the surface. He used various types of sticks with different points and widths etc. just like paint brushes to add, draw through the colors and mix and blend them..
i didn't know what he was doing for quite sometime and it still was never really relevant until he put the canvas down on the floating oil and lifted it off like developing a picture, it was all there then and it was astounding to have such abstract vision as to see something completely unrecognizable and then make it so visually accurate and appealing after it was all finished...
His ultimate finished product was beautiful bouquet of roses in a vase..
good on ya nooners, worthy of your pride...
I like Norton's painting. Can you post some more please.
(It will help CMN ' s topic make its century - so he won't mind)
I call this " 3 carrots".

CMn
I quite like your efforts, they are bright, colourful and to be no better or worse than things I've seen that people paid huge sums for.
Born in Paris / Amsterdam and in the right era, you could have been famous (though you'd have probably died broke).
You are certainly better than Damien Hirst.
This is called "Menage _a_carrots"

they are excellent carrot paintings if that's your sort of thing.
And finally "Dirty Carrots"

The painting (embellished print actually) above was given to me by Robert Hagen a friend of mine and who also owns the Shagwell Mansions in Pattaya.
As I like this work I will attempt to reproduce it as I believe it is quite easy. Also I am going to ask Bob to give me a few pointers.![]()

kind of not really art then is it?
As I have only used pencils before I believe this one will be good for me to learn how to mix and blend colours. After all that is what it is all about anyway.Originally Posted by ChiangMai noon
When I have mastered that (and by having a reference) I can then move forward and do my own work.

fair nuff.
looks bloody difficult though.
