Thread: UBC the worst ever

I have two UBC satellite dishes so my wife and I can watch different shows in different rooms at the same time.

So we have two UBC smart cards. One is Gold package and the other is standard.
Our monthly bill comes to slightly less than 1,900 baht a month.

Yesterday my wife couldn't get the Gold card to work on the TV in the bedroom. But it worked fine in the living room. So she called UBC.

The wankstains now say the cards are good only on ONE television in the house. In other words, the Gold card is only good on the TV in the Living Room and the other can only be used in the bedroom. We can't use them in either TV now. They claim too many people are taking their cards to pubs and friend's houses and not using the cards as they're intended.

That ain't my problem.

What's the point of having cards at all then? Just hardwire the box.

They're slowly fcuking me into being a former subscriber.

Has anybody else experienced this change? I haven't spoken to them yet, but am prepared to tell them to come get their shit. It'll be in a pile at the end of the driveway.

Not had experience with that yet but I was going to start a thread about an hour ago coz my ubc was off.

The message i was getting was code E38. I've not switched the language into English so I've got no Idea what the problem was.

It's back on now and as usual there's fuck all to watch but does anyone know what E38 is?

I would have canceled it months ago if it wasnt for the wife and family. I can't remember the last time I actually switched the TV on myself.

I'm about ready to toss it, use it less these days and when I get ADSL on tomorrow there is even less justification for paying theses cvnts 1600 Bt a month for a crap service.
A lot of guys in my village have chucked it over the last 3 months, if thats any indication, their suscriber base must be a bit pinched.

I smile everytime I switch my African sat on even tho I do have to watch Rugby and MotoGP racing instead of the football game that is playing in Denver right now.

You lot never had it so good...out here am stuck with almost a handful of Thai channels and a 20m cable running to the internet shop paying a monthly thousand for dl speeds of 2-5kps...nothing else, no UBC or True or even a landline...moan moan moan all they do is moan...

Did they tell you this before you bought the smart cards?

It seems like they didn't.

They should give you a refund, IMO.

I pay 36,000 Won a month for my internet and TV.

I never use the TV function. Never see the need. I kind of with I had just the internet now but I forgot to change it when i renewed.

^Yeah I think I paid around 33,000 won down in Busan for the internet and tv. Never watched tv, really. I just couldn't stand the Korean adverts. Of the 82 channels I got, I think 5 were in English. However, tv by itself was only about 6,000 won a month so who gives a fuck.

I used to get some form of local cable when I lived on Soi 36 Sukhumvit. It was a mix of UBC and some other channels. That was a few years ago though. I couldnt justify paying up to 2,000bt a month to watch 2 or 3 channels which is what most people end up doing as 90% of them are rubbish.

I don't have TV at home. I was offered that Platinum package for 1500 Baht a month, but I ain't that stoopid.

Blackgang's got it sorted. The Yarpie Sat is miles better than True.

^But what size is the dish. I don't have room to put a 10 ft radius umbrella on my roof.

plenty of SAT TV package available with free ROM live updates on the internet, all for less than 20,000 THB and a monthly charge of 250 THB
