We went to steak Laos in the end as one of the people had to get back quick for a meeting and it was relatively clear.
Excellent food, brand new menu.

^ Like what eclairs???
Those ones with the cream inside.

that was not an eclair !!

I always find that Sizzlers is the very best and most reliable place to eat in Pattaya. The salad bar is really good value...free if you order one of their main meals (which aren't at all expensive)
One year while on a diet I ate at their salad bar each day. Bowels etc: worked well. (Mine , that is) They also have pasta, soup and desserts free at the salad bar.
Their baked potatoes are excellent so long as you tell them to leave out the butter. They usually completely smother the spud with butter. Also when the butter is heated it splits and tastes awful.
Add the cold butter at the table.
There is also no nonsense over the bill or payment.

Good question but an obvious answer. There's MSG in all the dressings, soups and all the steak seasonings before they grill the meat and in the fry (chips) seasoning.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

I knew anyway, but what about the water?Originally Posted by EmperorTud
I think you'll find MSG in nearly every manufactured food product the world over and in most Asian fresh cooked food. You'd be on grass & water if you wanted to avoid the stuff (sadly).
Sizzlers ? god, what's next ? Chester Grill ?
going there is like going to Eden for food, it's disgusting

The girls like the sausages at eden but.
Did you know that chesters grill in Silom central is a full on gayboy pickup/meetup destination ?

In the UK a lot, if not the majority of manufactured food is MSG free.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog
Yep. Most Thai food contains it and most Thais use it in home cooking.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

Have you tried Fuji's yet Tud? I had a lovely Fuji's yesterday, my new favourite dish is I think called Salmon Meino or something like that.

I must say i do like Fuji.
I also like MK. nawty turned me onto MK a few years ago.
Healthy.

Haven't tried Fuji's yet. Will be trying it in the next couple of days.
I'm quite a fan of their Spicy Tuna Salad as well.
Saba sets are pretty good value, a decent piece of Saba, Japanese style rice, Miso Soup, a little dish of Kimchi and a little bowl of fried plachon/salmon, all for I think 120 baht.

Have to agree with BobsKnob there, although cannot remember introducing him to it.
Anyway, the dim sum is nice, like it or not, it is tasty and original or not...I dont care it is tasty.
You kind of have to worry how fresh and therefore healthy it actually is, when buying so much, deadlines, bulk and such. But you can get all the vegies and meats and cook it all to your required tenderness...then after that, the soup would have to be one of the tastiest you will ever find with all the ingrediants that have gone through the pot while cooking.
My favourite at the moment is Oishi and the all you can eat in an hour and 15 minutes. I particularly like the salmon sushi and always grab every dish as it passes by and pile it up on my table...my son helps.
Mind you, it is probably full of mercury and maybe why I am getting these headaches....but ya gotta die somehow.
I've lost credibility in your eyes??
Wow,....fuck....big deal....I haven't the slightest clue who you are so frankly your opinion means slightly less than fuck all to me.
Nawty...it was at Ratchada about 5 years about, you, me W & C.
a bit touchy aren't you cock?

Tried Fuji's today.
We ordered a few things. This is Gyoza.
This was deep fried ham and mushrooms I think. No idea what it is called in Japanese.
My g/f is not one for trying new things so she had seafood Yakisoba.
I had the white fish set which was 200THB and is only served between 11am and 3pm. The main dish itself was decent enough.
It came with rice, soup, salad and some other stuff.
The full spread.
Review: Decent enough, and I shall no doubt return, although it is slightly more expensive than similar chains so scores low on value for money. The lunch sets are good value but are only served between 11 and 3.
Taste wise it was similar to any branch of Japanese style chains such as Oishi and Hachiban Ramen. Nothing to set the heather alight there.
Service was as usual prompt but not attentive. Children were allowed to run amok in the aisles making noise and irritating customers. Mobile phones rang loudly and constantly throughout the course of the meal, although these things should be addressed by the restaurant itself, they are as much the fault of typical rudeness and thoughtlessness on the part of the Thais.
No toilets actually in the restaurant itself which was a surprise. Customers have to use the shopping mall communal toilets.
Conclusion: A POW's belly swelling 6/10
Mortals you defy the Gods, I sentence you to travel among unknown stars, until you find the Kingdom of Hades, your bodies will stay as lifeless as stone.

Problem with Fuji is, I had quite a big lunch there and two hours later was very hungry again.
