I retired at 55 (2 years ago)and I can recognise the sentiments expressed by many on this thread.
Should we form a Union or some sort of Retired Old Gits Society (ROGS)
We could then pass away the time by talking about the things we are not doing. We could all meet up and do nothing together. Or we could all sit on the small walls down along Beach Road in Pattaya early every evening and talk about the rising price of coffee in 7/11 etc:
Better still, I'll just sit in at the computer and then watch TV until I'm hungry.
I don't understand why people hurry to retire, the same way that I don't understand why people hurry to marry in their 20s. It seems like wishing one's life away. To me, work is a normal perfectly acceptable part of life. I have a good time at work and make many friends there, and at the moment I'd rather work than not work, although only being part time certainly helps.
