I agree. One unexpected benefit I got from marrying a Thai is a more accepting attitude toward death. My wife talks freely about the impending deaths of sick and old family members as if they're going on vacation. It seemed callous at first, but I realized that Thais seem to treat death as a very natural transition and nothing more. As a result of our marriage, I feel emotionally more prepared as my parents and other loved ones near the end of the road.
