Thai social groups that discriminate against the farang - add yours

There's the body language - the face - the look - that says "I fu**ing despise you" .

I get it all the time, as I'm sure many others do, it's a hostility that is typical of a certain social group, but some groups are always the opposite - For example, 80% of motorsai taxi guys are ready to be friendly and smile at you I have found.

Anyway onto the hostile groups, I'll start with - The mid - 50s lady who hasn't quite made it to having a huge wealth - she has a bit of gold, a clapped out pick up of at least 10 years old, and a non-airconned house down a soi which has piles of trash and a somtam cart at the beginning of it. She has the big hair, and always a miserable face. Even more miserable when she sees a Thai-girl-with-farang couple.

    Add your own groups:

The extremely average looking uni girls who live around me who think that because daddy bought them a car its ok to project an attitude similar to the repulsive bitches that wave handbags around on tv each night.
I find, and i dont jump into this lightly, that the more money Thais have the more they dislike foreigners and the less they hide it too.
I like the poor people in this country, those with money are vile kunts.

Oh and i forgot to add in the OP that those women have usually been abusing the whitening cream as well. You can see it on their pasty unhealthy looking faces.

^yes, but that look is stuck on their face and they give it to everyone, it's not specifically used for farangs.

The Thai Chinese ugly old women that stop and stare at me and my missus are the only ones I notice.

Usually they have drawn on eyebrows, ratty looking hair, polyester pants and an over sized floral shirt.

Oh, and they are usually wearing huge glasses as well.

Used to get those 'looks' in the states too back when I first brought my wife over. Not so much now when we go back but the boys down at my VFW Club sure wern't real friendly towards what they thought was a Gook...

So why didn't you waste them ?

    You a pussy or what?

Actually, I'm oblivious to censorious native opinion since their obvious inferiority renders a reaction superfluous and therefore utterly redundant.

Ya need to get out more often.

The extremely average looking uni girls who live around me who think that because daddy bought them a car
That's what happens when you reach middle age, uni chicks just don't appreciate you any more. It's definately not exclusive to Thailand.

The more money they have the more they express their dislike for us?
Maybe they no longer need or want our money so they are happy to express their true feelings about the foreigner.
Xenophobes the lot of them I say

I have never experienced what DJ Pat is on about.
Reckon this stems from how you present yourself in public. Dress down abit and for sure you will get disapproving looks.
Take me for example, Smart, witty, charming, sophisticated, presentable, dressed like I own a trillion dollars.
    Everyone is pleasant.
    Easy really.
Flip flops & Singlet don't go down too well.
Make an effort and life is easier on you and in the eyes of the Thais.
    Peace.

Can't say I've noticed, but, then again, I make the wife walk three paces behind me in the traditional fashion.

The "looks" farangs get from the rich are mild compared to the disdain they treat and view the unwashed masses which represent the majority of Thai peoples.

No Xenophobia. Just plain and simple elitism at it's worst.
